Does anyone know if the 308 will still be used by snipers or has it been relegated to Designated Marksmen. The choice of propellant of the MOD 316 was partly driven by the need for it to be compatible with M14 and AR10-based rifles.

If both .308 and .300 Win Mag are to be used by snipers, how is the choice made between them?
