Just got this in my email.
I have an Ultra 5 30 cal in jail right now.
Check cashed a while ago, maybe 2 months ago at least.
These are one of the lightest, if not the lightest cans on the market that will take high pressure magnums, including 18" .300 Win Mag.
The Ultra 5 is rated down to 11.5" with 6.5 Grendel and 5.56 NATO.

Thanks, i called last week and they told me they had a sale coming. I'm going with the ultra 7 6.5 can. Still not sure about direct thread or cb though.

So............ how do you decide between, say, the 5" and the 7" one...
Silencers are new territory to me. Wouldn't plan on it for my 308 but maybe for one or 2 of my 6.5-ers...

According to tbac, the 7" will be quieter. The advantage of the 5" is basically 2" and a couple ounces at the cost of a couple decibels.

I have a TBAC 5”, been using one for a while now on both SA bolt guns, various SBR’s in 300 blk and 6.8, and a Larue 18”. Suppression is good enough to make shooting it tolerable without hearing protection, and it is an absolute joy to carry around. If I had it to do all over again, I would have just bought 2 or 3 TBAC 5” cane and been done with it. I have absolutely no use for my regular 7” can, which is not even a heavy one. It’s just not as small and light as the TBAC.

Repeat ability is amazing . . . take a shot, take it off, put it back on, take another shot, etc and the bullets just keep going to the same point of impact.
I have shot some freakishly small groups with it. Everything I shoot is hearing safe and I have called in fox right after a taking a shot with supers.
The mounting system is awesome and the can is so light.
I would stick with the .30 cal can for the Grendel. You will gain a couple of DB's over the 6.5 model, but you will loose back pressure and it will run a little cleaner. That and you will have a built in excuse to build a .300 AAC.

Agree with everything you said except this. There is nothing 'hearing safe' about high-power centrefire suppressed at around 135db. It's just quieter than without a suppressor. Be careful of your hearing or you will regret it later in life. I use muffs when using suppressors. We used them every day in the military and always wore ears, sometimes double-ears. Hearing damage is a cumulative thing but it can also be caused by a single loud impulse. I know you are impressed with your suppressor but wishful thinking is a poor substitute for physics and physiology.

The hearing safe limit is once in an 8 hour period IIRC.... I know I want to shoot more than one round in a work day....

Really wish I would have seen this post earlier. Interested in their ultra 7 can. Not sure which to get for my 6.5 Grendel build.
