NFA individual to trust transfer, Form 1 pistol to SBR - same trust?

I was recently reminded of my own mortality and the potential of the unforseen. I am planning for an unknown tomorrow going forward, and have some things to take care of with my NFA future... I have so far filed all my NFA items as an individual, which potentially cuts my wife and kids out of my investment.

So I am going to re-submit my suppressor on a form 4 to transfer it to a trust, in which I can the add trustees and beneficiaries to later. In doing so, my can stays in my hands under my individual form 4 stamp correct? I then wait for the trust's approval, then file for the addition of trustees and a beneficiary?

Also, I want to form 1 my pistol to an SBR with a separate can, which I also will want registered to the trust. So, I am unsure so far if I would have to wait for the trust's approval in order to file for it to be in the trust's possession. Should I file the form 4 can trust docs and the form 1 trust docs at the same time, or would this muddle things up on the NFA's end?

Before I go to a lawyer, is there a simpler way to get this done? As I understand it, the trust is able to have many different items registered to it's possession? Also, I've read that it's better to submit a trust with myself as the sole trustee, then add responsible members and benies after approval. Is this correct? Will the addition of trustees and benies require further legal services?

KSWT - I hate to be "that guy", but the only correct response to your question, as posed to the interwebs, is a list of names of attorneys who specialize in such matters. There is no shortage of anecdotal information on firearm trusts. It is my (uninformed) opinion that all information gleaned from the interwebs is only free up until the point where you use it. After that, it can get very expensive.

Here is to hoping that it does not require it to sit in an FFL safe (jail) for the duration of the approval process.

Nuggin, yessir. Understood, and acknowledged. I do think that there are some of us out there though who may have been through the wringer before, and might have other insight. Good call on information only as good as the sand it comes with.

Sticks, thanks man. I have read that this form 4 individual is valid until the new stamp is approved. Doing it this way however means I forfeit the 200 originally paid...

$200 - yeah, any time you get to play with the ATF, you get that penalty.
