Form 1 Suppressor?

Anybody built a suppressor for their grendel off a form 1? Looking into building a .30cal off of a form 1 but I’m not particularly sure where to start, where to get parts, things like that. Any info would or suggestions be super helpful. Thanks guys!

I've been looking at this too, with my Form 4 taking so freaking long.

There's a company in Texas that does integrally suppressed barrels, where the baffles are cut from the actual barrel blank and are all one-piece with the barrel.

Templar Customs used to do that too.

I’ve looked at some of the arfcom stuff but I didn’t know if any of you guys had any thoughts on it. I’d love to do it, I think it would be a cool project, and it would be really useful too. I’m just having trouble figuring out where to buy stuff and how to get the whole thing rolling.

I have built 2 Form 1 cans so far. I bought the tubes and end caps from SD Tactical. They are selling them as Maglite Battery extenders at the moment. D size it what you want. They were solvent traps when I last bought parts.

I turned the baffles out of 17-4 stainless which I heat treated at 1025° F using a kiln. Plain Jane 304 will work too, but 17-4 is stronger once heat treated allowing for thinner baffles.

I would recommend buying the muzzle brake adapter and then buying muzzle brakes for all your host firearms. This allows for the suppressor to be swapped between hosts rather quickly. A drop of Loctite on the external threads of the muzzle brake helps keep the can in place.

As long as everyone is aware the government knows you are visiting these online sites and is recording what you purchase. No doubt this forum as well. Obviously you plan on doing everything legal but I am just sharing this story in case anyone has any doubts.

While unable to prosecute US citizens for buying solvent traps that didn't stop the US government handing over metadata to the Australian government in 2017 of all Australians who were interested in these 80%-type things. There were a bunch of Police raids across Oz last year prosecuting shooters and confiscating their licensed guns for purchasing solvent traps. So to be clear, it wasn't because these things were identified at the border by US or Australian Customs, it was because they visited websites and purchased online.

Klem, absolutely a great point and great advice. I’m not even sure if I’m going to do this or not, just was wanting to research it some. This forum has always had some great info for me on all my questions and I knew this would be no different! Like I said earlier, I just was wanting to get an idea of the process and where to start after I filed my form 1 if that’s the route I chose.

Yes, they sell the brakes and adapters.

There is a gray area in terms of what the ATF considers "constructive intent". In my opinion it depends on the agent. However, if you have a solvent trap/battery extender and baffles in your possession the ATF can bust you. If you want to totally eliminate that possibility do not buy any parts until you have your Form 1 in hand.

That’s exactly why I haven’t purchased any of it yet, didn’t wanna risk anything like that. I haven’t even decided if I want to Form 1 for sure yet, so I haven’t purchased anything. Just wanted to do some research first
