I put this Grendel together starting with picking up the lower in January. I used a very limited budget to build this and I think I have around $450-500 in the gun as of now. This is my first AR to own or build and was very excited about the 6.5 grendel round. I have not shot any "groups" with it yet. Have shot maybe 80 rounds though it mostly shooting 8 inch steel plates ranging from 50-350 yds. The results have been good so far. Maybe after this hunting season into next year I will get into shooting some groups and upgrading some of the budget parts as needed. I have been extremely pleased so far with my first AR. Hopefully this November it can put down some Indiana Whitetails.

If you can consistently hit that 8" steel out to 350 then you at least have a 2MOA rifle. Plenty good enough for Deer out to 300. I will be hunting with a Grendel this year myself.
After this hunting season I'm going to do some testing and practice shooting some more. So far I am addicting to shooting this AR. Only problem is securing enough ammo!
Congratulations on a great looking build. Like you, the Grendel is what motivated me to build my first AR and learn to reload. It's been a fun journey. It is absolutely the most capable and versatile AR cartridge you can own.

Did government credibility die of Covid or with Covid?
Ended up shooting a 3 shot 100yd group today after the morning hunt to confirm the guns zero. This was the first time I have really tried to shoot a 3 shot group. Shot off of a shooting table I recently built and off the bipod and a rear sand bag. I was pretty happy with the results. At 100yd shot about an 1.25 to 1.5 inch group in about a 20mph wind at my back and from the right with hornady black. I don't have a caliper so just measured with a ruler. Either way these results are very exciting for a cheap barrel. the group was about 2.5 inches high at 100yds and according to strelok this should put it dead on at 200. This should be the perfect set up to kill a whitetail this week. Going to take it out tonight and if a big buck doesn't show, will probably take a doe.
