The guy on the right in the second photo: Is that a real M203 Grenade Launcher on his A4? Is he LE? I wonder if ATFE was keeping an eye on this rally.

It's not something I'm interested in but the legal 37mm version can only fire flares, right? Looks "tacticool" but I'm not impressed.

Generally they don't. The main purpose of the rally is to show these folks there is indeed meaningful political opposition; and more importantly, to show their political opponents both current and in the next election, that there is indeed meaningful political opposition (and a source of campaign money).

It would have been rather optimistic to have expected this rally, or even one 10X larger, was going to fully stopped this train. What it MIGHT do, is put enough temper on some of the more extreme components, to dampen the sting. Outright "you're all felon's now" laws, might be tempered with grandfathering provisions, etc; in order to win over a few of the key swing votes they still need (and are going to get in the end).

While that still sucks, it's how it is.

Longer term, it means political opponents will see that this is a real political cause and source of future votes and campaign money, to helpful help stem the last 3 years of Blue Wave that's been wrecking so many states and cities.

I got to the rally late. Out of the seven or so other VA shooters I know well I was the only one who went out at all. Only two of them are even voters. Draw your own conclusions from that.
