Thanks. I can only say it's running w/o any malfunctions. Only have 13 rds on it doing a sight in/break-in this morning. Winds are 40mph w/ 50mph gusts. Looks promising though. Need to find a good zero distance for the acss reticle when the wind dies down some.

How do you like the SBA4 brace? Great looking pistol! I would look at the data relating to 308/7.62x51 Ballistic data when zeroing as it seems to be closer to 6.5 Grendel ballistics than 5.56/223. When I was setting up my 1-6 Strike Eagle I zeroed at 50 yards then verified at 100 and 200. Primary Arms have videos on using the ACSS reticle/scopes which are worth watching.

I run the SBA4 on a 300 ACC pistol so I'm used to it. My reasoning for that brace is it seems beefier than other options in the event I ever need to mortar the bolt open. That happened on this grendel pistol when I was test cycling dummy steel cased rounds prior to shooting it. Once I mortared the bolt open and removed the extractor oring it cycles just fine with all ammo.
Honestly the cheek weld on the SBA4 is a little wide for my liking, but like I stated I'm adapting the more I use it.
Having seen the PA vids, I agree a 50 yard zero will probably work out best. I'll be trying that and perhaps between 50 and 75 incrementally for comparison.

Got to shoot some today. Best group was just over 1.1" @ 100yds with 130gr Fed Gold Metal Berger off my backpack. Pretty darn happy with that using the PSA EPT trigger group which is actually a better trigger group than I expected. Going to swap the spring out with the heavy spring from the MBT-2S to see how that feels. Only 41 rds down range so far.
Looks like a 200 yd zero will work best with the acss reticle to 400 yds. Am beginning to think a mildot reticle is going to be a better option for this pistol. Will know more when I can get to the range and stretch it out a bit more than the 400yds I can shoot here at home.

First 5 this morning. I normally take a few dry trigger pulls prior to shooting for groups. Didn't do so this morning so that's my excuse for the first two printing a tad high. None the less, the GB barrel shows great potential if the loose nut behind the trigger does his job.

A few years ago I spent an afternoon with the JBM ballistics calculator playing with bullets and velocities to see how close I could match the BDC retical of the ACSS Gen III with a Grendel. A 107gr SMK at 2580 and a 200 yard zero is about perfect. Getting the velocities you need out of a 12" barrel isn't going to happen.

biodsl, yep, that became apparent as I played with a ballistic app this morning and saw the same. I can get close to 300 yds at best using 2150 fps. I plan to get a mildot to top the pistol since the barrel is capable of much more.
Would have got something coming next week but just got hit for $1200 in parts for pads, pump and power board for our BreezeAir yesterday. Ouch! Have to window shop till next month.
Hope to find something suitable that keeps the total weight down to 7.8lbs as it's currently configured with a loaded 10rd mag.

Thanks Redoman. It's Duracoat in Magpul medium coyote tan. The PA 1x8x24 was a spare I wasn't using. It isn't painted, the black coating wore away and that's the color of whatever undercoating that was underneath the black coating.
