Be aware that midsouth shooters supply may have been hacked and shoppers account information is being stolen and fraud charges are being applied to stolen info.

Night before last I purchased a 250 count pack of 12e eld-ms from midsouth and within the hour I had over 4 grand of fraud charges applied to my account.

Found all this out today when I went to use my card and my bank had locked down my account when the fraud charges were applied.

So luckly I'm good, new card in bound. My bank is contacting midsouth on my behalf.

So keep a look out gents.

Paypal is the way to go,because they are secure.But,they are limited w/gun stuff.Are use it on optics planet all the time.Never tried it on Midsouth shooters.

You couldn't pay me to shop with optics planet, been there done that, never again.

I have PayPal as well and it can be hacked as well, have a friend that had his PayPal account hacked less then 6 months ago.

My paypal got hacked three times in less than 6 months, was a major pain to get it all fixed. PP was the problem, not the cards. So it is on my do not use list, period. Three times, 3 diff places/uses/charge patterns, all to cards linked to it. PP is garbage to me.

My card has been hacked twice. With text notifications activated, I see any charge that hit's my card almost instantly then go to my bank's website, turn it off and let the bank straighten out the fraudulent charge. Last time it happened, my new card was in my hand the next day. The biggest inconvenience for me is changing the number everywhere I keep it stored for automatic monthly payments.

Thanks for the heads up. That’s why I won’t use pay pal as well. I’ve been hacked before using pay pal.

I have had been hacked at least 6 times in the last 10 years (not from Midsouth). I now use ENO for my cap 1 credit card. When you hit the check out on an online site, a little box pops up from ENO. It generates a one time use card # and expiration date that auto fills into the pay area on the check out. Then that # it used is done and can't be used again. Your actual card # is not exposed to the web. ENO is part of Cap 1 and I don't know if other card issuers offer something similar.

I have a card from the bank I transfer $ to that is min but not linked to my account funds, I just keep transfer some $ to it for bills coming due and for online orders so there is not much $ on that cards account.

I do that also. Our bank (US Bank) lets us set up a sub-account that we transfer funds into. All we use it for is to fund the EZ-Pass in my Corvette and for online purchases. We typically keep less than $50.00 in it and move money as needed. It only takes seconds to move money from the main account to the child account.

Everyone of you should do this and quit using your main bank card.

We recently had a regular credit card hacked. I called the vendor and told them they had a data breach.

i buy alot from them as well but this is the reason i dont use my debit card online , i just go buy prepaid visa cards for online shopping if the place doesnt take paypal, it costs a few extra bucks each time 3-5$ but worth not havng to worry about getting my bank card info stolen and having to wait on a replacement card/deal with all that

I brick and mortar bank with Wells Fargo, and have had several debit cards hacked/stolen just in the last couple of years. It has never cost me one penny or been more of a hassle than having a regular CC stolen. They have immediately credited my account or denied the fraudulent transaction before it even went through. They’ve been caught doing a lot of “unscrupulous” things in the past but I must say, I can’t complain about how they have handled my CC numbers being stolen.

Thanks for the heads up! I got an email supposedly from Midsouth saying that if I had forgotten i had some items left in my shopping cart? I looked at the list on the email and there were items I wouldn't even consider buying then I remembered this post. Glad I didn't log into the link from the email.
