You have optics as cheap as $200 and up to $700. If my budget was $700, i would be looking at some other options. Is that your max budget?

I would not buy the cheap 3-9 Leupold scope, I have a 3-9x40 Mark AR mildot scope and it is the worst in low light compared to all my other scopes. For a hunting scope which are used at sunrise and sunset you might be disappointed with the Leupold. The more expensive Leupold scopes are better but that can be said for most brands of optics.

Im not really looking at cost, just what will fit best on the rifle, this CZ has a modified M 98 action, so the bolt handle comes danger close to the eye box, also my neck is really messed up so I need low rings/mount for a good cheek meld. Also I would prefer not to have a big heavy beast the CZ is very light and nimble and I would want to keep it that way. If I had unlimited funds I would go with a high end Trijicon, but im trying to stay under 800 or perhaps 1000, thanks for your input. Yeah I hear you about low light level, both of my whitetail kills last year were done about 15 min before sun up using a older gen 1 Simmons ..at about 120 yards, didnt matter, I think if your shooting out past say 300 yards you will need better light, but im not sure, the elk I got 2 years ago was done at 1 min after sun rise I took him at about 270 yards using my ruger NO 1 300 win mag and a older vortex viper, my old eyes didnt have a issue with the low light level

CZ 527's have an odd trigger placement to the rear of the receiver compounded by such a short action. So it's not easy finding scopes that 'fit' well, ie; centered elevation/windage turrets between the rings. Compounded also by rings that are a little too high for the cheek height of the stock.
Best combo i've found is warne maxima medium rings as the lowest of them. And two scope options.
1. Leupold fxII 4x33 with it's super short eye piece and no magnification ring length plus the long eye relief you get a perfectly centered scope in the rings. Nice fit, discontinued scope, you'll want more magnification at 300.
2. Leupold 3-9x33 ultralight efr, it has short eye relief, is a short light weight scope, should center just the same as the fxII 4x33 with the trade off in eye relief for the addition of the magnification ring. The recoil isn't an issue to need super long eye relief. And with 9x you can see better at 300 to do your work. The downside to this option is i believe it comes with a fine duplex reticle. This isn't an issue for me because this scope would be going into leupold authorized warranty center for a cds-zl elevation turret install and i'd have the reticle switched to wide duplex to make the ideal cz 527 scope match in all respects. It would be an investment to do all this but that is the perfect scope for the cz 527 imo.

I do not believe that they make it anymore, but I have a Vortex Razor HD LH on my howa mini grendel in 2-10. I have the same scope on my creedmoor hunting rifle in 3-15. Mine had the HSR-4 MOA reticle. They are very nice, but the reticle lacks a full verticle crosshair.
If you are hunting out to 300 yards, then I think that a vortex viper HS with the BDC reticle would do well. They have a 2.5-10 and 4-16 with 44mm objective lenses, and they are probably in your price range.
I've had good luck with mid-range leupolds, and I had a trijicon that was nice. I don't have experience with the others on your list.

I have the Athlon Midas btr gen 2 4.5x27 with DIP 25 moa rail on mine.
Mines in a bell and carlson stock and I have the varmint model, so really long barrel lol.
Had to put a check riser on the stock due to the scope/ boot clearance.
Thinking about taking the torch to the boot handle and changing the bend, so I can drop down to even shorter scope rings.

Thanks for your input yeah I head the ultralight was a pretty great scope, also the SWFA SS Super light 2.5x10 was a beast..

My two-cents is this: I use Vortex Viper PST 6 x 24 x 50's on two of my long range rifles. At under 550 bucks on sale at Scopelist, I think this is the best long range scope for the money.
However............for hunting, these reticles get all weird when you are putting them on animals and not paper under certain lighting conditions. But this scope has an illuminated reticle and that feature coupled with the great glass and great tracking is why I love these scopes. There just isn't a scope with all these features that comes close to it's value.

Ive got Nightforce, Nikon and Leopold Scopes too.But from now on,I think Im going to stick with Vortex.Overall, the best bang for your buck.And best customer service and lifetime warranty in the business.

i found even a typical leupold 3-9x40 size scope was oversized proportionally and weight wise on a cz 527 american platform...it's the shorter 11.4" and lighter 11.4" oz scopes that actually 'suit' the small handy platform, i cannot imagine a 6-24x50 on one...'sir would you like a little rifle with that scope?' lol, you may as well put a scope like that on a pistol haha

hahahahahaha, no shit huh, im looking at a SWFA ultralite right now looks pretty sweet 2.5-10 x 32 I think, but would fit the rifle really well and allow for 250/300 yard shots.

I didn't realize just how compact a carbine the CZ527 is when I suggested the Vortex. I have a Vortex PST on a 700 Mountain Rifle for miles of hiking that I feel is pretty light overall but the Vortex would look like an alien on that rifle. Sorry I brought it up! :mad:
The only SWFA optic I owned was a 3 x 15 SS that wouldn't hold zero. The replacement did the same.

Take a look at Bushnell 6-24x50 FFP Nitro or Engage, they are reasonably priced and hold up well on my CZ 527 Varmint 6.5 G, 308 AR10, 6.5 CM AR10 and 6.5 CM Remington PCR.

I just picked up a 527 in 6.5 Grendel and went with a Gen 1 Vortex PST 2.5-10 FFP. Mounted it up yesterday and put a few rounds trough it and I think Ill be happy with it

i have used a few scopes on my CZ 527 from a Bushnell Elite 6500 3-15 and Vortex scope mentioned in the post above. Currently it wears a Kahles 3-9 that I had on a rifle I sold and they did not want it for my price. It has glass comparable to my Swaro and is light weight so it has a home there, also where I live and hunt now 250 yards is a very long shot so this scope suites me fine. I would not hesitate to go with the SuperSniper scope listed above.
I do recommend the DIP rail for scope mounting, if not doing long range just get the 0 MOA, for 300 yards you do not need the 25 MOA one. On the factory stock a cheek riser is a good thing to have as the scope it high for most to get a good cheek weld with the stock. Mine is an older one that started out as the 7.62X39 carbine and is my favorite bolt action rifle by far

Picked up one of these scopes and liked it but never mounted it on a gun, some how when health issues hit and others packed up my house that one did not get packed, oh well, nice scope for the $
