Advancements in the industry are always good. Although everything gets proved out over time....
:: 6.5 GRENDEL Deer and Targets :: 6mmARC Targets and Varmints and Deer :: 22 ARC Varmints and Targets

:: I Drank the Water :: Revelation 21:6 ::

Near double the barrel life for an extra $180 would be worth it to me. Factoring in cost/work of the labor of replacing a worn barrel, ammo/time costs of new load development makes the savings very attractive!

Sounds interesting, the higher round count could definitely save $ for those that shoot out barrels n a regular basis, like a benchrest shooter I know says they make barrels while we sleep, perhaps Bartlein wants a nap also

6.5-284, 22 and 6mm Creedmoor, 264 Win Mag.... Lots of "over bore" shooters would like this.

I think BFT needs to get his pawns on some of this new steel and have some bolts made from it for us to test how much increase in wear it can take when compared too 9310 steel commonly used in grendel bolts.

Lol, I’m not sure bartlein would just hand him over their proprietary property.

However, He could go dumpster diving Smile

thats going to depend on its mechanical properties
i would imagine the hardness was upped to help stop wear
it would need to go a long way from 416 to match 9130
here is 416 vs 9130

I love my Bartlein barrels. And I will surely buy more. If the newer material Bartlien is available when I order my next from Paul Craddock, I’ll spend the extra.

I drove right by there today. If I'd a read this yesterday I could've saved BFT from doing the dirty work.

Ha, a Bartlein barrel. It's on my buck list.
