Elections have consequences and we all know which political party has been the biggest obstacle to our 2ndA rights. Montana is now on the road to
Constitutional carry.. Gary Marbut has been the biggest and single most successful gun rights champion in Montana throughout the decades. He has been personally attacked by every leftist organization in Montana, "from being called racist to insane" for leading this charge.. He never blinked and always kept going.. I hear ya' about the "People's Republic of Washington". I left there 10 years ago for Alaska. It's not perfect, but we have more freedom than most, including Constitutional Carry.

This summer, when I was in Seattle, during the "summer of love", I saw plenty of uber-leftists carrying firearms. Openly. Even the scary black ones (firearms, so there's no misunderstanding). I walked through the CHAZ/CHOP almost every single day that it existed. There were guns. Some open, some in their distinct (and obvious to the knowledgeable) carry disguises. But guns a-plenty.

If you all don't know and understand the different gradients on the political spectrum, it would be good to familiarize yourself. Progressives, then socialists, then communists, then anarchists are the next steps after liberals. A lot of liberals don't like guns. But get just a bit farther (to the left) removed from liberalism, and it can get pretty wild.

All liberals are leftists, but not all leftists are liberals.
"Leftist" is the broader category for political ideology, that varies by degree.
Regardless of what any video says, I have lived amongst them. I know who they are, how they think, and what their objectives are...

Probably because the term belongs to the contemporaries, not the historians. On that side of the political spectrum, today's usage is very much as I've described it. We can argue whether the term is semantically, historically, or factually accurate - but in the end, the conversation is for those who have framed the context in the most meaningful and relevant way. 80/20 rule... Or, to put it a different way... I'll speak to the 80%, in a way that's understood.
From a "leftist" point of view, progressives and liberals operate on completely different planes, and recognize one another by the aforementioned designations. A true progressive dislikes a so-called liberal, almost as much as they dislike a conservative, of any flavor. Don't believe me? My own take on this, is that you have much more to fear from the "modern liberal", than the progressive. The liberal is a waffle, who goes whichever way the wind blows. They are populists, who react to perceived consensus, freely adopting trending positions as their own, without necessarily understanding the depths, thereof. Sheep.
Progressives are entrenched. You know who they are, at all times. They don't need someone else to figure out for them what to think. In fact, they often are the narcissist in the leftist co-dependency of liberal and progressive, where liberals are the enablers. Progressives will use the liberal to gain mass and momentum, but secretly despise them for being, well... Sheep.
Liberals give progressive positions teeth, and popularity, where most people in a free society, might tend to marginalize them. Until you get to the level of entropy that we are currently witnessing. Welcome to the shit show.

What ever term a person uses, "when a government, individual or group of people" forces others obedience" it becomes tyranny. Freedom is self determination and choice....Forced obedience and collectivism is evil...Here is the original definition of liberal......

I'm sorry, I respect what you're trying to say, but I'm grounded in reality, not pedantry, or idealism... Trying to tell others that words that they've been taught for as long as they've been self-aware, don't really mean what they think they mean, is a losing proposition, in any scenario. Words change, cultures changes.
I'm far less concerned by the problems that have been caused by a departure from semantic conventions, as I am thoroughly absorbed by the ramifications of it all. We're not really disagreeing fundamentally, if we can just get past the hang-ups of historical terms. I'm not going to re-imagine my own empiricism, for the sake of the King's English (or whatever the case may be)

There's never anything that we're going to disagree about so vehemently, that I can't treat you (or anyone else) civilly. If we don't agree, it's not the end of the world. We will agree on something else, some other time.
