The Bergara barrel makes this CVA is "steal" in any caliber ... I use my Grendel's to shoot, and I do shoot long.. for Hunting if your a solid shooter you will be fine ... but a body hit with Grendel will usually be a thru-n-thru rather than a knock-down

If you "shoot" a couple of things that can make a Big Difference..

Over 300yds - I fit up my Nikon Black Force - a bit of overkill but heck one heck-of-scope

4) Form1 Titanium 4"-10" Modular Suppressor - I run 6" config to tone it down - 6" on this modular gives a good balance to the Brace-Scout-Optic combo

How do you like the Farrow tech grip feel?

It's comfortable, but I would prefer the fatter design like the factory grip just minus the finger grooves.

One issue is I installed a single point sling adapter that will need to be modified. It sticks down and interferes with getting a comfortable grip. It will be an easy mod. Just bend the attachment point back so it is almost flush to the tube.

Got to shoot it a little today and I'm happy. 4 shots to zero the scope then this 3 shot group at 100ds. Same load as my bolt action Howa mini. right at Max load of 8208 XBR and 123gr SST. Had those first 2 shots touching then I called the one I tweaked to the left.

I original bought this CVA (really Bergara) when ammo went UP - on the One-Shot-At-A-Time plan. Whole bunch of fun - shorty tack driver - I have cloudy thinking when it comes to Trunk Gun - I have a Alex Arms Highlander for that "job"

I ordered one of these pistols on Friday. I expect it to be at the shop in a couple of weeks. I am still considering a standard rifle scope for it. Any thoughts on that? Does it buck much? ~Riuma

I, too, ordered one from Bud’s a couple of days ago. I’m going the more traditional route and mounting a Burris 2-7 when mine arrives. Haven’t played with a Contender-like hand rifle in some time now, and look forward to it.

You are going to enjoy it. These pistols are really fun. I am now thinking about buying another to keep in standard pistol configuration and with my current one, adding a 2 1/2" long pinned and welded muzzle extension and adding a real collapsible carbine stock.

I wish CVA made the Scout 2 takedown in a 16 1/4" or even 20" Grendel.
