I got to do a little shooting a couple weeks ago and am just getting around to posting the pics. Nothing serious, just some fun stuff.
Almost every group with the 108 scenars had the first cold bore and sometimes second shot pretty far from following three or four.
Also shot a great group with factory amax at 380 yards, and had some super penetration on bullet resistant glass at 380 yards with the 108 scenars.
Any ideas on the flyers with the 108's besides shooter error?
Oh yeah, the first time shooter in both cases was a female of very small stature, now she and about three other at the shoot want a grendel!

Your rifle is accurate! For 1st-time shooters to be making head shots and 1/2 MOA groups on heads at 380yds says it all. Then to throw in some 2" thick ballistic glass penetration with a simple BTHP target bullet? Way cool man.
What barrel do you have again? I'd be really interested to see what your rifle will do at some more extreme distances.

other than the cold bore in an auto rifle the round which you manually chamber will often have a different point of impact vs the rounds that the gun chambers its self

LR 52, the barrel is a bartlein, 22". Ive been really pleased with it so far, and it seems to get better every trip I take it out. Ive attached one picture of a group at 732 yards,which I think measured 7.1-7.2. It looks like four shots but its five. Thats as far as Ive been able to go as of yet. Ill take it on out in a month or so

The little engine that could==the mighty Grrr. That glass penetrate was awesome!
The 6.5 is the best of the mid. cals.=bar none.
Nice job ricsmall ! BTW, where did you get that glass from? I may have a few bullets to try against it. Interested? lemmee know.
S1, my cousin got that piece from a bank that was being remodeled, but its pretty well shot (pun intended)! I think he has more though if you want me to test some projos on it. just lemme know. I was also impressed with the divots on the 3/8" plate at 380 yards, though the plate at 355 is AR550 steel, so it was splash only on it, even with a .223 WSSM with 60gr partitions. I also had some good groups with 120 SMK's, but unfortunately didnt get any photos I dont think...Ill have to go back through and check again...

ricsmall, I will get back to you soon about a few bullets, waiting on the last 2. 2- I already have. Do you think he has enough glass for 4 seperate tries? Maybe you guys could save some , until I ship a few rounds out? One will go to 5-600y, & penetrate through,the 3 others=who knows-let's find out. Cool?

I did some more shooting yesterday and nailed down a load for the 123 sierra MK at 28.2gr 8208 XBR. I also think I got a good one for the 108 Lapua scenar,28.8gr Benchmark, though I didnt take any pics of those groups. It was MOA or less out to 400. Also got a great group with the 22-250, so I included it as well. Great day of shooting all in all, as I got some guys who had always shot their deer rifles at 100 yards only, by days end I had them on steel at 400 and most at 2 MOA or better at 400, so they were very confident in their guns and themselves when we finished up. Now ive created a mess of folks wanting grendels, but they know it will be a while before I can build them any, they just cant believe a black gun is capable of such precision. Anyway, thats about it, just wanted to share.

No, no class! Thanks for the compliment though. The only "formal" training I've ever had was some casual shooting with my cousin, an SF marine who is pretty good. The rest has been trial and error and lots of powder burned over the last twenty five years. I try to read the stuff stokesrj, lr1955, lr52, and others put here to get some pointers now and then. Hope one day to go to one of the classes lr52 puts on. Maybe one day.

I read somewhere, maybe here, that the impact of the bolt from lockback will cause the bullet to unseat a few thousandths, I dont know if its true or not,but that was one of the reasons I remember reading. It seems that it would take a pretty hard hit to do that IMO. Ive also read about the bullet becoming crooked in the case mouth due to slamming into feed ramps, again, not likely, but possible.
