Not bad being only 300 FPS behind a .243 with 108gr bullets per Hodgdon load data for the .243. I could see this making for a decently fun to shoot fast twist 6mm rifle that hopefully isnt too rough on barrels. I know my .243 gets hot fast pushing 100gr bullets in the 2900-3000 FPS range. Depending on where it goes I may look into making a bolt gun for the cartridge some day.

I could get into this one... Maybe with the 103 eldx, 90 gr Tgk, or the hornady 95 sst... Bolt or gas...

As soon as brass and carbon barrels I'll be in. Something like a 6mm Valkyrie is pretty much perfect. Too bad the 6 ARC isn't the SPC bolt head.

I'm too lazy to compare drawings so what's the difference between it and the Les Baer 6mm?

This one is very similar to other versions out there. From what I have been told a major ammo maker is standardizing it with SAAMI. Looking at the SAAMI drawings it looks a lot like a 6mm Grendel almost exactly a GRR necked down. Any manufacture that does a 6.5 Grendel would only need to chamber and install a 6mm ARC to have them ready to sell.

Exactly, and they'd probably want to go with a familiar naming convention, PRC, ARC, etc. Looks like the shoulder is moved back a bit, and the neck is shorter than a standard Grendel. I'm glad that someone is finally standardizing the 6mm AR, I like my Grendel carbine for a hunting rig, but for actual LR use, this would be mo better.

Hope that makes sense. Really looks like shortened the body by .03. Keeping the case diameter and shoulder angle the same necking to a smaller diameter will give a shorter neck. I suspect the shorter case is to deal with COAL and the AR platform when using the 108gr class bullets length/ogive. .03 inch will not result in much powder capacity loss from the Grendel case to the ARC case and a little is made up for with the smaller diameter bullets extending into the case.

That's the gist of the difference between the 243 Win and the 6mm Creed, shorter case body and 6mm neck to allow for the longer bullets to seat.
Another advantage (to me anyway) is that the 6CM style case allows for Varget/H4350 mid-speed powders instead of having to go with the slower H4831's, as in the 243. The 6CM case is efficient enough that you still get very similar MV's even with a bit less case volume. So a wider, more usable group of powders for me. So possibly the 6Arc might go with similar Varget style powders, hope hope hope. But have to wait and see on that.

Grayfox, I was just looking up some load data for some bullets I want to try in my .243 and was surprised to not see Varget in the data. H4350 was listed by the manufactures of the bullets I plan on trying though. I may have to run it through QL and see what can be done with Varget and Benchmark though.
