Has anyone converted or tried to convert an NEF or H&R Handi Rifle or Topper into a Grendel single shot?
I know many receivers were for shotgun pressures only. I wondered about a 223 barrel/bolt caliber conversion to Grendel has been done.
Why? Just to make it an "interesting gun"!

I've put a 6.5 Grendel single shot in Henry's suggestion box several times. Maybe if more people did that Henry would try one.

Years ago I had Wayne York rebore a H&R 22 Hornet to 6.5 Grendel on a SB2 receiver. I couldn't leave well enough alone and it became a 260 Rem. I believe he charges $350 plus shipping and can dial in any twist.

Years ago I too had Wayne York do work for me, he took a .223 Ultra H&R and made it into a 220 swift for me. Still works great and I don't worry about beating it up.

Got an email from Henry this morning. They are too busy with production right now to do any new carriages but the Grendel sounds like a nice cartridge. Said to send it to the suggestion box. I do that every time I go to their site. Also they have lightened the pull the single shot trigger as part of a recall.

Good luck. They own what's left of H&R which is a few parts and the Pardner shotguns. All the tooling for the single shot guns were sold off back in 2015. My friend was the most senior gunsmith and he helped crate everything and watched it go. I doubt there's room in the market to buy new tooling and sell budget single shots.
