I thought this was interesting and would be interested to see if they used their old funded project data from the original 7.62x39 work done in the late 1980s.

Colt made a 7.62x39 Sporter II back in the day with an A2 upper, 16” barrel.

Once Colt introduced those, Hi-Power shooters took the bolts and chambered AR-15s in 6mm PPC. The rest is history...

I also was looking over a Ruger 450 Bushmaster in Sportsman’s Warehouse today.

The bolt material appeared to be exotic, so I went to Ruger’s website looking for any clues on what it might be.
