    CFE223 and the Grendel

Guys, great news! Just picked up the new Hornady load manual (9th Ed.) and it lists load data for CFE223 in all three bullet weight classes! Not to mention a listed max with the 123 grainers of 2500fps out of an 18" barrel. I'd be happy to share charge weights if anyone's interested. Happy shooting!

This is great thank you. Do they show 85 grain bullets?

Not sure if I'm seeing the data correctly, but max charge weight for 95gr to 100gr bullets using CFE-223 is less than max charge weight listed for 120gr to 129gr bullets...?

Hodgdons has produced a similar head scratcher in the 6.5mm BR using CFE223 and 142g SMKs. Notice how the max charge of CFE223 is nearly 10k CUP under all the others, did they run out of projectiles at this point and figure that was good enough?

Zer0t, this is all the data shown. Hornady doesn't make a 6.5 mm 85 gr bullet. The lightest they have is the 95 gr vmax. IE Hornady only lists data for their own bullets.

I have 120 grain Nosler ballistic tips. I am assuming I can use those v Hornady A-Max? I'd stay near the starting load data.

Hey I'm not a complete idiot I have parts missing. Though some times I wonder.

Grendellizing predators as of the fall of 2012.

Small bullets that go really fast, make me giggle...........
