That is nice. I have the same bbl waiting for another build, who pinned the flash hider on for you? Can you post a pic of the weld?

I drilled and pinned the barrel then had it TIG welded by a welder I trust. Drilling the blind hole was a pain, the flash hider is hardened steel, so I had to crank up the rpms. Also, paying very close attention to the hole depth. Just enough weld bead over the hardened pin and ground it flush, cleaned it up with 320 grit and some cold blue.

            I really like it.
Are you planning on hunting with it, or just general blasting?

Main idea, a brush gun for deer hunting but it should also be a fun blaster. Hopefully Sunday I'll get er out to the range see how it shoots and functions. Suppose to get warm, into the thirties, t-shirt weather.

Nice job, Whelen. I suspect the Sabre barrel will be a shooter.

Been a fan of the Grendel from the very beginning and haven't second guessed that choice one time.

It's the perfect scope for a light weight build, got a good deal too.

Leupold VXR- 1-4 hog hunter model. I have the same scope (but not the hog model) as well as a 2-7. Great scopes. I like the fire dot way better than any other illuminated reticle I've tried. It show up nicely without washing out the entire picture with too much light.

And it only weighs 11oz. which was a big factor for me. Another feature that's really cool, the FireDot(illuminated reticle) has a motion sensor, after x amount of inactivity it turns itself off but as soon as you pick it up it turns itself back on.
