    95 grain V-max

I have a load that shoots half inch at 100 using XBR 8208 with Rem 7 1/2 primers.
I'm thinking that is good for coyotes.
Don't read much about the V-max.
They shoot as good as 123 grain bullets.
Are they usually hard to find an accuracy load.

100 grain A-Max shoot good too. Dave.

        29.6 grains 8208 with 2.175 COL.
        Hornady brass.

28.5 grains shoots well in fire-formed 7.62x39 brass with Fed LR primers also.

i am going to lower that by a bit till i can get to my chronograph. i want to shoot this new rifle today just to function test and breakin. i really like to shoot CFE223 loaded ammo for this reason as well but i left my manuals at work. was there a load data for 95 grain vmax that used CFE223 powder? i really dont want to have to drive to work to get my manuals and there is nothing on hodgdons website for it.

Hornady 9th addition had a revision showing starting load 28.5 grains to 33.5 grains max load with CFE 223 in 6.5 Grendel with the 95 grain V-Max to 100 grain bullets like the 100 grain A-Max or 100 grain Soft Point.

The velocity with the 33.5 grains is listed at 2700 FPS but the test barrel was 14.5" IIRC.

CFE is slower than 8208 and not as temperature stable.
CFE doesn't seem to work well with 100 grain and less bullets.
I wouldn't think it will be as good in cold weather.
Winters are real cold up here.
8208 and AR COMP has given better accuracy than any other powder for me.

I already loaded about 20 brass with 31 grains CFE 223. I'm going to just use them up and not worry about accuracy. They should at least burn clean. I pulled the bullets from a dozen steel case and dumped the powder, refilled with cfe. Gonna see how that works out

CFE223 works great for 100 grain Amax and Sierra Varminter

Really wanting to try 95 V max. Hard to find. If it shoots like the 100 gr A max oh happy happy..........
Hey I'm not a complete idiot I have parts missing. Though some times I wonder.

Grendellizing predators as of the fall of 2012.

Small bullets that go really fast, make me giggle...........

I've been sitting on a load workup with this combo for a while now, but haven't been able to find a good range that I can go and chrono at w/o interruption. 8208 XBR and 95gr Vmax pills set to 2.170 OAL. I had gotten 1/2 through my 30.0 gr group. Need to go back and finish it. 30.2, 30.5, and 30.7 are next, but the primers are starting to look a little flat past 30.0

29.7gr was 2783, SD of 6fps. (This might be my go to load)

                      29.5gr was 2772, SD of 21fps across 5 shots,

                      29.0 was 2704 SD of 10fps

                      28.5 was 2693, SD of 10fps

                      28.0 was 2656, SD of 11fps

You can vibrasettle it. I just turn on my case tumbler, and hold the charged case against it until the powder settles nice and deep into the case.

Hornady's 8th Edition has 14.5" barrel data in it, but no CFE223 data back then.

The 9th Edition has 18" barrel data and CFE223. That 2700fps speed with 33.5gr is also for 100gr bullets.
