    I prefer TAC to CFE.....
I have loaded with both in 308 a lot and after shooting the same CFE 308 load at 22 degrees and 96 degrees a week later; I no longer use CFE223 in 308.
Grendel might be difference but, for me TAC is much better.

Here is another chart which is worth looking at which list how certain powders work in relation to temperature. I saved this and use it as a guide. With anything on the internet I cannot verify these results but I think it might be a pretty good representation of how some powders are more sensitive to temperature change. I copied this from a 6.5 Creedmoor forum.

“20 degree temp change won't move impact a mil at 1000. Look at the temps below for changes per degree. The most is 1.71 per degree. Using that and 20 degrees it comes out to about 34 degree change. Running my data on JBM, which I know is good, my load at 2895fps with the 140 AMAX is 7.9 mils at 50 degrees at 1000 yards. When I go up to 100 degrees it changes it to 7.6 mils. I have shot the H4350 loads from the teens to over 100 degrees with minimal chrono'd data shift. Might be a tenth or two at 1000. That is from the ammo being in those conditions. Granted that is with H4350 and not the new powders being used but even if they were more there still wouldn't be a full mil shift.

I haven’t shot the 107 SMK a lot and haven’t tested the tipped 107 grain TMK but I like IMR8208XBR with the 107 grain bullets. I got good velocity and accuracy with 107 SMK bullets. IMR8208XBR is one of the more temperature stable powders for the 6.5 Grendel. I think the 107 grain bullet weight hits the sweet spot for 8208 burn characteristics.

I load 31.0 grains CFE with 123 grain match bullets. For 31.0 grains CFE 223 gives me very good accuracy and doesn’t produce excessive pressure on the hottest days. I rarely shoot long range at temperatures below 40 degrees so the velocity loss has not been a detriment for me using CFE223.

Blew my Lilja AR24 barrel extensions to pieces today. Bolt blew apart a few weeks ago so maybe it did some damage to the barrel extension? Seems very odd, thoughts?

Me, XBR & 107 SMK don't get along...

I remember seeing your post brut28481. One bad thing with 8208 is pressure spike fast with 123 grain bullets and could also be the same situation with 107 grain bullets. When I loaded the 107 grain SMK with 8208 I only used 28.0 grains of 8208 powder in Hornady cases with CCI 450 primers. I got good accuracy and I’m not sure if I ever chronographed that particular load.

I've got two posts up in the grendel preferred loads thread. Results with ARComp and 8208 posted up.

I think the 6.5 Grendel is a fantastic cartridge, mild but yet effective over a wide range of conditions, and of course the fact it fits into the AR platform is just icing on the cake. One of the things that seems to elude us, is a bullet and a powder that just works in everyones gun. Since I am a High Power competitor, I

I asked DoubleNaughtSpy to shoot some pigs with my TAC and 107 grain TMK, he obliged and posted a video today in the hunting forum.

These bullets aren’t a good option on pigs, multiple shots required on 2 of 3 pigs - the sow who was shot once ran nearly 200 yards...
