    Lapua 136gr Scenar-L

I had the last load 29,8gr left and sent it down the range.
Smoke came out from the action and the bolt were a bit harder to open.
And when checking the case and primer, the pin hade punctured a hole in the primer.

Went to the range yesterday with 4 different COAL to test if I could find the best jump for this bullet and load.
It might look as there is 6 shots, but I placed a black dot with the marker pen on the target...not ideal.

      This is the result:
      1.
      Jump: 0,8mm (0,031")

      2.
      Jump: 0,6mm (0,023")

      3.
      Jump: 0,4mm (0,015")
      IMG_2498.136GR.JPG

      4.
      Jump: 0,2mm (0,007")

Excluding your flyer on group 1, I'd say go more jump, not less.

Thank you again for posting all your results with the heavier pills. I am on a quest for getting something in the 130 class to work well out of my Howa rifles, then maybe my ARs. Right now I am leaning with the 130 ELD. I have not tried the Norma 130s. Nosler 130 RDF was an expensive non starter, and I still have 2.5 boxes of them and no where near getting them tuned.

Loaded up some 136gr Scenar-L yesterday with the goal to test longer jump.
All rounds loaded with 28,5gr N140, with 10" droptube I might add.

Loaded up 3 sighters and then 4 groups with 5 shots each.
                Started from 0,8mm jump (0,0315").
Went in quite big increments to see if there was any change in the groups. And also, the box of 100pcs bullets are running low...

                So the diffrent jump-groups are:

                0,8mm (0,0315")
                1,2mm (0,0472")
                1,6mm (0,0629")
                2,0mm (0,0787")

When seating the bullet, there was quite a nice crunch of the powder.
Here is a picture of the round with 2,0mm jump, and a 136gr bullet beside. The bullet is seated alright...

Have shot the rounds today with the different jump.

I shot the rounds in a "Round Robin"-style and went from shortest jump to highest, from highest to shortest and then back and forth until the bullets were all gone.
The distance is 100 meters, prone position. 5 shots, and the VV N140 loaded with 28,5gr.
                  1.
                  Jump: 0,8mm (0,0315")
                  IMG_2539.JPG
                  2.
                  Jump: 1,2mm (0,0472")
                  IMG_2540.JPG
                  3.
                  Jump: 1,6mm (0,0629")
                  IMG_2541.JPG
                  4
                  Jump: 2,0mm (0,0787")
                  IMG_2542.JPG

After this shooting session, you were right Sticks!
Longer jump looks as it is the right way to go with this bullet.
I will test some more around the 1,2mm jump (Target 2, 0,0472")
If there is one flyer to the left on the target nr 3, then this looks interesting also.
So my initial plan to go forward is to load 5 shots with the following jump:
                  0,8mm (0,0315")
                  1,0mm (0,0393")
                  1,2mm (0,0472")
                  1,4mm (0,0551")
                  1,6mm (0,0629")

If this works out as I hope, there will be some nice groups around 1,0-1,4mm jump.

Some might think that this is useless and just will burn money.
But I really think this is fun
I really like to test and find the very best from this bullet and powder.

Looks to be some good info gathered there. I don't suppose you choreographed those groups.

                      No.
                      No chrono over this shots.
Since the POI changes when the Magnetospeed is attached to the barrel, I usually dont use it when going for target and small groups.
Whit this load, it should be somewhere around 2400fps (732mps avg. over 10 shots)

Found out that the 130gr ELD-M and this 136gr Scenar-L goes almost identical in speed with the same load and powder.
Not sure if it is that the 130gr ELD-M goes slow or if it is the 136gr that goes fast
