    RL12 in the 6.5 Grendel??

I still have about 4 lbs of RL12 left (it shoots fantastic in my AR10 (308) and was wondering if it is usable in the 6.5 Grendel with 100 gr and 120 gr bullets?

You're a lucky man, I shot up my last RL12 about 10 years ago, it's a great powder.

I have some RL12 that I bought to load in 7-30 Waters. I just got a 308. Would you share your 308 load?

What did you load with RL12?

I use it in my Armalite AR10 A2 in 308 with 42 gr of RL12 and a Hornady 155 gr Amax bullet. I have about 300 of the 155 gr Amax left also so I shoot the RL12 and Amax's sparingly.

I could have sworn that years ago Bill Alexander said RL12 was about the perfect burn rate for the Grendel and he wished they were still selling it. I'd give it a . . . wait for it . . . shot!

BFT< I read the same thing! VV N135 is supposed to be very similar to, if not equivalent to RL12's burn rate??? I contacted the people at Reloader and asked if they had a suggestion for a Replacement for RL12 and did not get any response. That really irritates me, the least that they could do is say "no comment", after all the busy (?) politicians take the time to say that all of the time.

I am all set top begin reloading having just scored a pound of A2495 along with my other powders. This reloading for the Grendel is becoming an exercise in frustration with all of the powders and bullet choices. I long for the days of reloading for the 30-30 Winnie. Two bullet weights and only 3 or 4 suitable powders to choose from. Those were the happy days!

Just about every rifle I used, back in the day, I wish i could be more help but all of my notes from back then were lost in my final move to the low country in 2001. A few that come to mind .. 300 Savage, 223, 30/30, and 45/70. It was one of only 2 powders I used back then, 3031 was the other.
