Same old story here, someone comes online with a product for the grendel and everyone pooh pooh's on it.
No it ain't cheap but then again it's MATCH type hunting and target ammo.
You cant afford it that's fine heck I can't either, heck I can barely afford to try their bullets in some handloads but I will find some cash to get some and try.
Just can't understand why so many cry we need more options then crap on it because it ain't dirt cheap.
Ok rant over y'all can get back to hating.

I love Lehigh's bullets, especially the CC line. Iv'e loaded it for years in 300 BLK. Super accurate and devastating with 20+ gr of H110/Win296. In a 16" bbl i was getting 2460fps with 110gr CCs.
That said, Underwood is claiming:
Muzzle Velocity: 2800 fps
Muzzle Energy: 1915 ft lbs
What barrel length is that? I haven't started loading the Grendel yet as I am just completing the build. But mine is a 20" and i haven't seen any data or even reloading "fish stories" claiming that velocity from a 110gr Grendel. Am I mistaken?
Wait...let me guess.. the ubiquitous 26" non-ported Pac-Nor barrel that nobody actually shoots with?Last edited by Shooter Magavin; 09-15-2018, 09:12 PM.

"Underwood Ammo combines our trademark power and precision with Lehigh Defense™ masterfully designed Match Solid bullet- the result is one astonishing round. This round is created to produce a stable bullet whose axis of symmetry is equal to its axis of geometry, thus ensuring a stable flight. The unique titanium flash tip makes it possible to see the bullet impact at extreme distances with the naked eye. Use only in fire safe areas."
Be careful. Remember those people that set the county on fire earlier this year out West.
It looks like their controlled chaos ammo has no such warning. Maybe the match ammo could be called uncontrolled chaos.Last edited by bj139; 09-16-2018, 12:52 AM.

I never noticed that about the match bullets. They are new and I never read the description before. Sounds interesting. I have used the Controlled Chaos 110 and 115 Cu (Copper) as I stated above.
I don't know how many here are familiar with them, so for the sake of shear boredom.. I'll give my experience and maybe somebody will learn something new, or not.
The original CC bullet is made of a brass alloy, best I can tell. It's very hard and looks like brass. I sometimes wonder what it's doing to my barrelThey are the most consistently accurate bullets I've ever loaded. I can only attribute their impressive accuracy with the fact that they are all individually CNC milled instead of the traditional die-swaging. Maybe it makes them more gyroscopically stable? I don't know, I'm not a ballistician. The "hydraulic" concept of expansion is real and very devastating, BUT...It's either ON or OFF. In other words, if it hits soft flesh, it explodes, but if its just not quite soft and wet enough...then nothing. It just passes right through. This can be a bad thing for hunting if the shot placement or animal hide/bone is not right. However, the "Copper Alloy" version of the CC, the 115 gr (.30Cal) is supposed to blur that line a bit, and act a little more like a traditional bullet when it hits drier mass.
I buy them when they go on sale and load for a reasonable price. I do buy Underwood's SD Pistol ammo though. Pricey, but it's reliable manufactured ammo using great bullets for Concealed carry. I'll cut corner to save money, but not on that.

I didn't put a smiley face on my last post because I know fires are a serious matter.
Maybe they should sell spark safe ammo.
I did see some photos of expanded controlled chaos ammo and it looks devastating.
Other bullets expand nearly as well at 1/2 the cost.
Most of us need cheaper ammo so we can shoot more since ammo is the largest single cost.

Maybe I am out of date but I recall Underwood selling very good and very hot loads for reasonable prices. Not that they should not sell the spendy stuff but most of us are not in a race to see how much we can spend on ammo. What can they do with a good varmint bullet? What can they manage with normal hunting bullets? I always found them to run the ideal line between maximum safe power and maximum value. Hope they remember this for future 6.5 Grendel loads.
