    100 gr Nosler CustComp HPBT

Finally got a chance to inspect these 'seconds' from Shooter Pro Shop - of the 10 samples:
    weight: 100.2 gr +/- 0.2 gr
    OAL: 1.137" +/- 0.03"
    Seating depth*: 2.259"
    * BCA 18" 1:8" barrel that should probably cleaned again

The tail has a very similar taper, a tighter metplat and looks-like a longer taper/ogive than the 123 CC which is 1.204" OAL in the samples I have.
These don't appear in the Nosler loading data yet but I'll start with the "usual suspects" like 8208XBR, AR-Comp, TAC and possibly A2520

I'm using the SAAMI profile (52,000 psi) in QuickLoad instead of the CIP (57,740) since that was too hot at first but now that I have an adjustable gas block turned way down and put all 3 tungsten buffers in the tube, the ejection pattern is more like 4 o'clock and the brass holds the primer.

When I look at https://www.nosler.com/custom-competition-bullet/ I would take a SWAG at .490 ~ .505 for a G1 BC. As to velocities QL shows that at max SAAMI psi some of 'popular' powders will touch 2,700 - CIP maybe 2,800 but there's only a handful capable at 100% loading density or less (I'm not a big fan of compressed loads in my gas gun).
I'm sitting at my loading bench formulating a plan for the testing sequence but the wind & rain lately have been a buzz-kill.

If the 100 grain Nosler CC bullets are still in stock in a week or two I’ll probably order a couple hundred to test. I had good results with IMR8208XBR with 107 grain SMK and good results with H-335 and other 100 grain bullets. I’m curious to see how the 100 grain bullets Nosler CC perform for you, louielouie.

The 77"s are about the best shooting bullets out of my AR 15

CAVEAT EMPTOR! There's a reason these are "seconds"...

My testing has been slowed down by the need to *REALLY* sort these bullets: I was running a single case thru my RL550 one at a time for set up and found that a bullet with 0.004" difference in length translated into 0.010" of seating depth change.
My Hornady comparators and the Hornady seating die contact the ogive at different points making it more difficult to sort. I suppose I can run them thru and then seat the ones that are too long for the magazine/chamber but during load development it is much more work. My theory is the forming dies have subtly different profiles and then got all mixed together for bulk packaging.
Still a good deal if you know what to expect.

GLK45 - I bought some of the 77's also but mostly from curiosity: my 5.56 w/16" barrel is setup more for CQB so ultimate accuracy isn't the goal. Either the 62gr FMJ's from Everglades Ammo (for my daughter's blasting) or the Hornady 62gr BTHP from MidSouth (for me )

FINALLY!!! Got some decent results out of this thing!
5 shots in .78 MOA using HDY brass, CCI450, carefully sorted bullets set at 2.249" AOL and 27.7 gr of 8208XBR.
                2476 fps avg
                Sd 16
                ES 37

28.0gr (the Nosler accuracy load) averaged 2490fps w/Sd of 13 but the group was about 1.2". The 28.6 load had an Sd of 7 but the group had gotten bigger.
The next predicted accuracy node will be around 28.7gr @ 2565fps.

27.7 of 8208XBR seems to be the magic point for several bullets.

At 2.249" OAL this is about 0.010" of jump so would you think more or less seating depth would help? Besides the CCI 450's I still have some S&B and Winchester's depending on what the horde says work best with 8208XBR.

No way a 100gr 6.5mm bullet with that form factor has that high of a BC. Should be more like .395 to .410 maybe.

Has anyone who has tried these been able to estimate a BC (G1 or G7) based on testing at various ranges?

I realize this is an old thread, but fwiw, Nosler claims a G1 of .362

I?ve got a blue million of them and I can?t get them to fly worth a damn out of anything, 4 gas guns and 2 bolt rifles. And lord knows I?ve tried. In fact Im still trying, and 1.5 MOA at 100 is the best I?ve seen, ever! Pitiful.
