Starline Brass, who has used it and what do you think?

Small rifle primers, which are the standard for the Grendel, are all the same diameter, excluding any potential conversations about manufacturing tolerances. I think PPU has sold some ammo with large rifle primers. 7.62x39 cases use large rifle primers.

6.5 Grendel is a Small Rifle Primer cartridge.

I would recommend getting these Handbooks we put together and published, read them in-depth, and most of your questions and more will be answered pretty comprehensively.

I think all 6.5 Grendel are small rifle primer pockets. Lapua has a smaller flash hole.

I think Mark611 is referring to the flash hole of the primer pocket. Some have larger openings than others

Run out is typical starline, very good. Not lapua good, but hornady good.

They will take all small rifle primers I have tried (federal AR match, Rem 7 1/2s, CCI #41 and CCI #450s.

Virgin Starline has slightly less capacity as Hornady or Lapua, so dont throw your Hornady/Lapua spec charges in Starline brass and expect the same results. I suggest an independent load workup.

kilco, have you done a volume test to see how much capacity difference there is between these case or is their another source for the difference in the volume capacity? and how much is the difference is there? the reason why I ask is the Starline brass seems to be a decent price, but if the performance isn't there then I may need to look at other brass?

Timely thread. I prefer Starline after Lapua in most applications. Good to hear it is performing well in the Grendel configuration.

I haven't done a volume test, but the performance and value is certainly good. Starline makes good stuff. The slightly lower capacity doesn't handicap me at all, just takes a little less powder to get equal velocity compared to other manufacturers.

Starline is all i buy now for my grendel and creedmoor.
I have hornady but no lapua
