I found that with Hornady cases you almost have to trim after every firing.. I full length size as it's for an ar.. I've switched to starline brass.. and can honestly say that brass hasn't needed but a light trim.. in fact I just v finished wth my 6th firing and it's still good. So onto the 7th it goes. As far as primer pockets, they are all good. But definitely can feel them growing on me.

The only brass I've seen go past 1.530" is older PPU, which is really soft with Large Rifle Primers.NRA Basic, Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, RSO
CCW, CQM, DM, Long Range Rifle Instructor

Reloading is easier when all my cases are uniform in size.My rifle cycles better too.I check cases with my EZ gauge after firing to see what’s going on.But,I trim them all. Then chamfer/deburr.

It is amazing how people get different results for what should be the same thing. I'll throw in something slightly more different. 100% of my 6.5 Grendel brass is Hornady. I trim with a Little Crow trimmer set to max case length. From new brass to some past it's 8th firing I get almost zero case stretch. Yet there is always about 1 case in 20 that needs some trimming. No matter what (also true for my 5.56, 300 BLK and 277 WLV) a case stretches once in a while while most of the others do not.
BTW... since getting the Little Crow trimmer I rarely measure case length. After the cases are resized (shoulders set back and extra .002 to .003") they get run through the trimmer and into the tumbler. I've been meaning to ask for thoughts about this and this is a good time.
Thank you
