Keef, you and I are in agreement here. I know some guys find it lacking, but I've always secretly wondered exactly how much of that was a mental tick due to the "steel crap" stigma rather than real world results. I'd never accuse anyone of falsely reporting results, or skewing results because of a bias, but it happens I think almost unconciously in this case. It's supposed to suck, so point in fact, it does.
I've never had what I'd recall as bad results from using it, never had an issue with being able to hit my target down range. It takes me a bit to get the calculator to like the data, but once I've gotten it dialed in for the day, it stays put and is as accurate as I am. If I'm 2MOA out to 400, that's got my itch scratched. I'm almost never under MOA out that far even with my special sauce reloads. I'm usually closer to 1.5 in general with my gas guns, regardless of what I'm doing. I'm just not there yet. I'd guess I'm between that and two moa with my wolf plinkers.
I really wish my range would let me use it on the steel, but alas, I'm doomed to either take my own 8" gong out and move it to the point I want to shoot at, or to use the dirt berms and paper. Still a good deal. Your statement about shooting above it's price point is spot on in my experience as well. My GB faxon EE barrel does just fine with it.
