    Other than pointy bullets ?

I know the Grendel has great reach, but does anyone use one for woods hunting ?
Thinking about my days in the Pa. woods, and 180 gr roundnosers in my -06 Remington 760.
I'm thinking of a nice handling AR.
Haven't researched available bullets, so no clue what is out there ?
    What say you all ?
Cool, tricked out Grendel, with roundnose bullets, in the woods ??

If your looking at something to shoot through brush which i don't recommend ever doing then i would recommend the 50 Beowulf over the grendel out of an ar but either way i still wouldn't do it.

Lapua makes a couple of 100 gr. bullets with a nearly round nose profile, but both are FMJ's, which aren't really hunting bullets. Only ones I can think of in a weight suitable for the Grendel, but considering the variety of good hunting bullets available for the Grendel, I'm not sure I see any advantage to a round nose. Good luck.

I use Hornady 100g interlocks in an ar platform for deer hunting here in Michigan, they work great as most of my deer are taken inside 150 yards. I find it to be on par with the 243 win. Sierra 120g prohunter is another great deer bullet for the grendel.

I have been deer hunting for 49 years and have killed a few hundred with about everything from a sharp stick through a 45-70 and I can tell you that it has been proven that it does not matter if it is a round nose, flat nose, spitzer or any other construction bullet there is no BRUSH BUSTING BULLETS. Yes you can get lucky and hit game after a bullet has hit twigs etc. but odds are it will not be where you were aiming. Yes very high velocity lightly constructed bullets will blow up if hitting twigs etc. because they are constructed to do so. Use a good hunting bullet and try to pick your shot for open spots and you will have just as much success with the Grendel as a RN 180 gr 30-06. Most any 100 to 130 gr hunting design bullet will kill deer very effectively in the Grendel. I killed one last year with the Speer 120 Gold Dot and it did Awesomely. Will be using the 120 Sierra Pro Hunter this season which starts for me tomorrow but looks like I will not be hunting because it is supposed to be raining with high winds and chance of thunderstorms and may end with snow. Yep here in the mountains of TN we have all 4 season, sometimes in the same day. LOL I did kill a doe yesterday with my muzzle loader. Dropped it like a sack of concrete at about 70 yards. 80 grs Hodgdon 777, MMP high pressure sabot with a 45 cal. Hornady 250 gr XTP out of my old Knight T-Bolt rifle.

Wasn't looking at a non existing brush buster.
Just round nose bullets, and woods hunting seem to go together.

Been hunting thick swamp, oak flat and pine platations all my life and never needed are heard of round nose bullets going together with that type of terrain.

              Must be a northwest thing.

If you want a round nose I think the 160 grain round nose is the only 6.5mm bullet with that shape. Midway carries it.

If your looking for a non pointy bullet to load in the Grendel, just take any appropriate weight 6.5 mm bullet and load it backwards in the case.

Or take a flat base soft point like "120 Pro Hunter" or "140 Hot Core", put in a vice and carefuly flatten the tip with a little pressure. You can even put a block in the vise so the tip will be rounded the same, so every bullet will have the same new lower BC.
