Have been experimenting with A2015 powder. Accurate's reloading data has never reflected this powder for the Grendel....ever. I e-mailed Accurate Powders about loading data. They said that there was none. The powder is too slow for loading in the Grendel. Well.....now it became a challenge. I have loaded wildcats for years and know something about burn rate charts, case capacity, sectional density and so on. So, according to a number of burn rate charts, A2015 is very close to H322. Therefore, I used the starting loads for H322 as a guide. I am very pleased with the results. I my Grendel (CZ527, 24", 1:8 twist) A2015 produces similar velocities grain for grain as H322. Also, load density is good. Very light compression in some loads. Shot to shot variation is very good and speeds are within 100fps of other powders for the same bullet weight. It has shown very good results for bullet weights from 90gr TNTs to 120gr A-Maxes. A2015 IS NOT TOO SLOW FOR THE GRENDEL. A2015 is probably not a well known powder compared to other powders. Because of this, I picked up an 8# jug for $99.00 on a closeout. This powder is fine grained like H322 and meters like a ball powder. Very nice for loading a tray of ammo without the need to weigh out each charge. Hope this might help someone with some A2015 on hand or can get some very cheap on closeout... AA2015 was Accurate's answer to duplicate H322. I can't believe they told you that it was too slow for the Grendel. If anything I would have thought it is on the border of being too fast. I have used Accurate powders since they came out and have found that their ball powders are about like Hodgdon's in the temp stability. As with any ball powder their ES and SD are not good compared to stick powders but you can find good accuracy and velocity. AA2015 is a single base extruded powder so it should react about like most in this class temp wise I would guess. I have not tried any Accurate powders in the Grendel because I have not owned one for all that long and I found IMR8208 does everything I want it to. I have shot a lot of AA2200 when it was a (DATA) powder and AA2230 in 223 Rem. and AA2520 in 308 & 3006 and AA4350 and AA3100 in various calibers. They all shoot really well. Back in the day Accurate powders were much less expensive than IMR or H and that is the reason that I tried AA2230 as my first experiment using the 223 Rem. It did so good I kept trying their powders. These days they cost as much as any other and in my area those who carried them have gone out of business of ease of getting it has become a pain of mail order, haz-mat fee etc. I did find a good deal on AA4350 at a store in KY while traveling and bought 10 lbs. a few years ago. That will probably last me a life time. I still have some of the 2220 (Data) powder that some day I may experiment with in the Grendel with light bullets.

The brass that I am using is reformed Winchester, FC and IMI 7.62x39. These have large primer pockets. I do have some Starline small primer pocket brass. The Winchester, FC and IMI formed brass is thicker and has less case capacity than the Starline. I have found that the thicker brass in the formed cases can do the same with less powder as in the Starline SRP brass. Also, it appears on the Chrony that the large primers give more consistent velocities, with quite a bit less extreme spread than the small rifle primers. I use CCI200 and F210 primers for the large primered brass. I have been using CCI450 and R71/2 small rifle primers. I have not yet tried the CCI41s. My extreme spread with A2015 and the large rifle primers has consistently been 50fps or under. The small rifle primed brass has given wider extreme spreads in the 60-80fps region. I have Lee 6.5 Grendel dies. These dies came with a very good condensed loading sheet. I have achieved quite good results with A2015 using the charge weights listed for H322 in all bullet weights from 90TNTs to 120gr polymer tips in the thicker formed cases. In most cases, the velocities are quite close to those listed on the loading sheet. Usually withing 50-70fps in my bolt gun. Using the same charges in the thinner Starline brass gives velocities that are about 75-80fps less than the thicker formed brass. I would suspect that the Lee Data is more for the thicker formed cases. My next challenge will be working up loads in the Starline brass. Not sure when that will be, as I have about 200 formed cases....Winchester, Federal and IMI. Good Shooting, Bill, Montana Territory.

Sierra lists XMR 2015 for multiple bullet weights. I haven't tried any so I won't post loads, but I too have been wandering about it. My local sources are pretty skimpy when i comes to powder choices and AA2015 is one that is available ( sometimes). My best (?) source has repeatedly tried to sell me 4350 to reload 9mm. He says all the State Troopers use it in their 9s. Land of Lincoln should be 'Land of Scam Artists'. LOL. Sounds like a fellow in my town that was sold Bullseye to load his 30 carbine. Was told to just fill the case and seat the bullet. BLEW HIS M1 Carbine TO KINGDOMCOME. Lucky he was not hurt.
