I knew that, that's why I tried it.
6 rounds bulged my mag, so I called it good with 5.
Now to see if they mess with poi, or group size.

Never caused any issues with my groups when I was useing them. Don't load longer then 2.260 are you will have problems.

Honestly I would rather have metal grendel mags. Cpd/duramags have been great for me.

I buy mine from there are locally. Their 10 round and 26 round mags have been the best metal grendel mags of all the grendel mags I have tryed.

Gun mag warehouse has 10rd CPD mags for $13 I have never used CPD mags,although I’ve heard good things about them.
I’ve only ever used ASC mags.I own ten 10 rounders. Never a problem of any kind.They are $14 each at gunmag warehouse

5 rounds work fine in the 10 round 5.56 Pmags as well.

I've got to ask why? My Elanders work fine. If I only needed 5 rds I'd rather use a shorter mag.

Because my elanders suck camel balls.
I bought 2 asc mags, and so far, work great.
I have ALOT of 20 and 30rd Pmags.
Wanted to try it.
My Grendel is going to be a deer gun for the most part.
If I wanna go burn ammo, I'll grab one of my other ar's, and burn cheap fmj ammo.
IF, I said, IF, i decide to break out the Grendel for a hunt, I'll check zero, and go.
I'll have plenty of range time to figure drops out, well, before hand.
I'm not going to spend more money, for mags I don't need.
5 rounds at a time, is just fine by me.

does this work with the 10 rd pmags , 2 weeks ago i mistakenly ordered 5.56 10 rd mags instead of .308 10 rd pmags , just figured it wasnt worth shipping them back and id just keep them for my 5.56 but hell if i can get a few rounds in them as well ill use them for my grendel

Should. The issue is more with the shape of the lips, the follower, and the way they stack; more than the rated capacity of the mag. A few rounds can work, but since it's not a true vertical stack, you end up with a force-vector that is pushing the rounds into the walls. With 5 rounds, it doesn't really matter (sometimes), but once you stuff more in there, between the taper and the growing tension pushing into the mag walls, problems will likely start to ensue. The feed lips aren't really quite right either, but sometimes it still will work, depending.

I've done it, it does work - for a small number of rounds at a time.

Yes 5 rounds will work from 10 round pmags. But let's face it 5 rounds gets boring after about 3 mag changes.

Not a big deal for me i only load 5 rounds in my 10 rd mag anyways when im target shooting
