I've found a good load of 30.7 under speer gold dot 120 gr. .684" group in one AR and .895" in my sons.. 1in in my daughters howa mini.. the ARs have 18 in barrels shooting 2420 fps average.
I got some Sierra 130 BTHPs and tried LVR with them trying to find something that would shoot in a BCA 20" barrel. Only data I could find was in the Grendel manual and it was with 129 Nos. LRAB that was max at 31 grs or a little over, can't remember. I dropped back one full grain 30 grs to start with and loaded up to 31 in .2 grs five round each. 30 grs was too hot for a steady dite and 31.2 was WAY TOO HOT. So be very careful and back off more than you think you should and work up slowly is my advice. I came home and had to pull all the other loads down. I then found 120 Speer Gold Dots with IMR 8208 and never gave the LVR another try.
Found a good source for LeverEvolution locally, and its on sale. Looks like the load data is almost identical to CFE223. I wonder if they are the same or at least lot to lot the same?
They don't act they same in my mini. CFE is better fps wise and definitely accuracy wise. LeveEvolution has been the most dissappointing of the 6 powders I have tried with 123SST's.
Hmmm I am using leverevolution with 123gr sst and elds and 2600fps is no problem and accurate. Have yet to find a better powder. If you don't put enough under the bullet it will burn dirty. At least in my 20 in BHW barrel.
Well once again that proves how every barrel/rifle is a world unto itself, leverevolution didn't burn particularly dirty for me and actually I was over max on a number of loads, this powder was just beat out by several other powders, easily. If it works for others that's great, more choices for all.
Expect you will be at least satisfied with 123 grain Bullets and LVR My experience & observation is that 125 & 125 grain flat base bullets really shine, Really really shine in terms of velocity with LVR in the Grendel and longer barrels. My experience is with a bolt actions w 24 in barrels My observations of others was w longer barrel AR's. Accuracy was good, perhaps not stellar.
