I'll quickly address your question and it's not dumb. maybe some here can give a better answer as well.
Primers can and do effect the accuracy of a given load. I usually use CCI but have used Federals and Remington in the past. Different manufacturers use varying degrees of charge in their primers and it effects the ignition of the powder and it's accuracy. The outside temps also have a great degree of influence where some reloaders have used magnum rated primers in very cold conditions where a standard primer is recommended. And the thickness of the primer's skin comes into play when shooting semi autos verses a bolt gun. A thicker primer helps reduce the chance of an in-battery slam fire. You will see most of us who shoot semi's use a thicker primer made specifically for use in auto loaders.

Here is a link describing the cup thickness of different primers. This website has pictures of different primers flash plus primer evaluation threads.

The CCI 450 Mag primer if probably one of the best to use with the 6.5 Grendel in an AR. With that being said no two rifle are exactly alike. There are so many things that can be different in a load you work up for YOUR rifle. Primers do make a difference in the accuracy of loads but if you do not have a rifle that is capable of shooting sub MOA you might not see much difference in accuracy between different primers inside 200 yards. When you start stretching the yardage where the standard deviation and extreme spread velocity wise is larger with some primers than others in your load is where greater accuracy difference will be seen. Problem is these days is finding ANY primers in stock to purchase. Good luck.
