    ar-comp vs power pro varmint

so my lgs is out of ppv and cant get anymore , granted i have like 5 pounds of it but they do have plenty of ar-comp on the shelf , and i wanna stock up on some more powder.
how does ar comp compare to ppv , my second choice for a powder was ramshot tac but i cant get any of that either , so if ar-comp will be pretty close to my ppv ive been using i wouldnt mind going back and buying a pound to test out and then if it is as accurate buy up a few more pounds to put away

unfortunatly none of the load data i have includes ar-comp

It's way more temp stable for me that's for sure.

As too how much will be safe in the case when compared to ppv, that I can't give you because I have never run both powders on the same bullet to know how they will compare.

What I can tell you is that ar-comp makes great speed for me in my ar grendel with 120 gold dots and in my bolt grendel with 12e eld-m.

I have some ppv I would give you if I could get it legally shipped too you. Not much lil under 2 pounds.

No experience with ar comp myself but it has a great reputation here on the forum, I doubt you would regret getting some.
As ARC was produced as a improved version RL 15, and RL 15 is one of my favorite Grendel powders ARC should be outstanding.
Nosler has a bit of load data for RL 15. The forum has plenty of favorite loads that use ARC. http://www.65grendel.com/forum/showt...d-Loads/page23

its to late now they just closed but i think ima pick up atleast 1lb of it tommorow and 2 boxes each more eldm in 123 and 140g , if it shoots good and accurate in my rifle ill go back and buy a few more lb's of it
just hoping it works well with the 130-140g bullets i like to shoot

one of the things i love about ppv is it works excellent from the 90g all the way up to the 153g's i tested in the grendel

Is the data in the shooting times article from a 16" barrel?

just picked up 2 more pounds of ppv and 1 lb of ar-comp to try , i think the ar comp is going to be better suited to my 28" inch barreled gun , which is the reason i bought it anyway as i wanted something just a lil slower then ppv for the longer barrel
however if the ar-comp works well in my 20 im going to go grab another 3 lbs of it

AR Comp is a tic faster than PPV per Hodgdon Burn Rate Chart.

I loaded up 6 123 elds 3 each at 27.2 and 27.4 to start with fed 205 gm match primers 92* out so we'll see what it does soon as I clock out of work
