    143gr Hornady ELD

    Hello
Has anyone tried the 6.5mm Hornady 143gr ELD-X in their loads? Too big/heavy?
    Thanks.

      I'd stick with 130-140g eld
Tbh the 123 is better then the 130 the extra bc of the 130 isn't enough to cover the velocity loss.

The 140 however if u can get them moving 2450fps is a nice choice if u wanna shoot really far

I've tested 143/147 and 153's to heavy for my 20inch barrel though with my 28" that might b a different story though the 1-8 twist not real good for the 147+ stuff anyways

        Consider this:
        100 gr: 850mps/2780 fps
        123 gr: 750mps/2450 fps
        140 gr: 650mps/2100 fps

If you have a 20 MOA rail the 123 is a good option. But without it, the 100 is better as you might need the flatter curve or you will run out of adjustment.
I never hit paper with the 140 in my grendel @ 500 meters, had to adjust 55 mil and it was above what the turret had, so i had to add hold-over. And im wondering if the bullet
        was unsable at that range.

my actual accuracy/shooting loads look like
          out of a 20inch barrel

          90 gr @ 3050 fps tnt
          100 gr @ 2820 fps eld
          123 gr @ 2570 fps eld
          130 gr @ 2580 fps rdf
          135 gr @ 2500 fps a-tip
          140 gr @ 2400 fps eld

my 123g load is slow but ive done some testing in the 2650 range and it looks good just havent had time to finilize the load yet , the powder im using seems to favor the very low end and the upper end of the bullet wieghts
