Was the destruction at the entrance and the exit or just the exit?

"Fur friendly" seems to be a difficult goal to attain as I have yet to see a round that expands that is consistently fur friendly in 6.5 Grendel. If you have the velocity and energy to expand in the short distance inside of a coyote, that bullet is going right through with its expansion in most cases. Often uncontrolled for by the hunter is what the bullet hits inside. Some of the most amazing wounds I have seen on coyotes come as a result of hitting bone such as the humerus or the spine and the wound channel beyond that impact becomes enormous, the shards of bone acting as shrapnel the compounds the amount of destruction.

Varmageddon and TNT are both going to come apart and you are likely to have quite large wound channels and large and/or sometimes multiple exit wounds on broadside shots.

I've never used the Varmageddons in 6.5 but have great accuracy and success with them in .223, 6mm (6x45) and .308 (.308 Win & 300 BLK). This should give you an idea of how explosive they are:

Some differences: Varm bc=.340 flat base, the TNT bc=.281 flat base. My limited testing the Varm gave better accuracy by a small bit.

I think you are correct, they are flat based, looks like Midsouth used the wrong pic. will edit. https://www.midsouthshooterssupply.c...pped-100-count

                            Texcl2,
Benchmark will work fine. however. for fur. you might consider the Lapua 100gr. FMJ-RN. punch a tiny hole in and out. less sewing to do. i fear most any other bullet out of a 6.5 Grendel will not be very fur friendly. just a thought. experiment however you wish.
