According to lots of folks on the forum, the 120 gr SMK works for a pretty wide range of powder... do some searches on here for that bullet.

Powder charge, seating depth and neck tention have way more to do with geoup size then how much the bullet weights in at.

I found consistent grouping under 1MOA over a range of at least 1 gr using 123gr ELD-M.
            Details here
I think this was because it was a bolt action and a short fat barrel.

Huh, I still haven't found a lot of data on AR-Comp with 123gr bullets, but was under the impression that max load was about 27.6. I'd have not gone higher; what is the max as far as you've seen?

Generally speaking I find slower burning powders that you use more powder per charge will have wider accuracy nodes than faster powders.

This has been for quite a few cartridges I have loaded for over the last 44 years and it doesn't seem to matter if it is a small case or a large case on extreme size tested with that 22 Hornet to 50BMG. Just something I noticed and played with. Wish I still had the notebook I had that data in. If you think about it a .1gr change in charge effects internal ballistics more on a 25gr charge than it does on a 30gr charge.

I think bullet design has more effect on accuracy then weight. I see the Sierra's having wider nodes on avg....but I also see the same thing when it comes to powder burn rates. My most accurate bullets in the Grendel have always been the Sierra line ( in my Creedmoor its the 147 ELDM)
