123 gr SST

I'm shooting Hornady's 123 gr SST with 28.5 gr PPV. I took a good sized white tail with this combo yesterday at a lasered 260 yards. I am genuinely pleased and amazed with the performance of this combo. The deer dropped where it stood when hit and never moved an inch. Meat damage is minimal as I expected with a rib cage shot that was a little further back and slightly higher than I planned. I have high praise for the SST line of bullets and this 6.5 caliber is no exception.

The rifle is a Ruger American with a 22 inch barrel. I also have a Sanders Armory upper on my AR but unfortunately it is not legal here in PA to hunt big game with a semi auto. I got the Ruger because I wanted to use the 6.5 grendel for deer hunting.
