Wolf steel case?

I JUST finished building my 6.5 Grendel and now I can't find any ammo except the Wolf steel case. This build was a precision hunting rifle with JP barrel.
I read so many conflicting reports on steel case ammo and wether it is detrimental to the barrel. I'm not looking for accuracy with the ammo, but just general range time until the better ammo is available (who knows when that will happen!). What do you guys think?

Exactly, the steel case is only in your chamber so no effect on the barrel. I personally don't like shooting steel cased stuff but if that's all I could get I would.

Welcome to the hoard and good luck in your ammo search. Actually, PSA has Hornady ELD Match for $30/box if you really want brass cased stuff...cheapest I've seen in a little while.

ETA: Sorry, PSA ammo is sold out already. Check Ammoseek regularly and something will pop up.

I found on my brand new Faxon barrel the steel case didn't like to fully go into battery. But after a few rounds the action functions flawlessly.

Sounds like u need to start looking for reloading equipment!

all the newer people to shooting are not going to know that the wolf steel case was only 149.99 per 500 shipped jsut a little while back and has no effect on your rifle at all. except to make it go bang! lets just welcome them along this trail to shooting sports!

Diddo on the use of the Wolf steel case ammo. It's great plinking ammo and will hold about 2 MOA out of my 12.5" group buy barrel. Precision- NO Fun and useful- Oh Yeah
