The ammuniton "industry" has inadequate supply issues due to an inability to EVER meet DEMAND and a lack of foreseeing business trends with a total disregard in EXPANSION, WAREHOUSING AND COMMON BUSINESS SENSE!
Every time there is a shift in supply whether perceived or not it ALWAYS = SHORTAGES. Look at the toilet tissue, and hand sanitizer, or storable food (cans/boxed) business during the covid HYPE, they seemed to not only meet supply but exceed it, after they experienced supply issues. The opposite effect for ammo, components, parts and firearms. What cost more money, storing goods or losing out on selling during the greatest buying trend in centuries?
IF...they would have stockpiled, expanded and modernized, LIKE EVERY OTHER INDUSTRY there would be no shortages. Every rise in demand that manufacturers ignore is money lost, add to that an estimated 5 MILLION NEW gun owners and what we have is a piss poor business model that would not extrapolate further out in the next 2 months!
As far as raw materials go every industry buys from the same suppliers. Take lead for instance 80% of the lead produced goes into Battery production. Are batteries scarce or more expensive than ever? The demand is real due to the fact that the supply is so mis-managed that is almost laughable,! Seems there is a concerted effort into not pumping out firearms related products even though the demand is huge. What other industry leaves over a BILLION dollars in yearlong backlog of orders? Hint NONE!
To blame supply issues on hoarding or panic buying is so dishonest, we have been dealing with ammo shortages since the early 90's, one would think these genius's would have figured out how to pump out supply when demands aren't met.
Hoarding should be short term when those instances occur, it is the business model or lack of, in the firearms industry and lack of being able to ramp up due the lack of modernizing, expanding (capitol) and stubborn compliance. I would bet anything the ammo manufacturers are run by leftists who want supplies to be dwindled to NOTHING; like FREEDOM GROUP, for instance!

Welcome to the new Meatsack/Bolshevek inspired 'normal'. These prices will not be dropping anytime soon... If anything, a year from now we'll be wishing for these 'good ol days' if the STEAL continues with the GA Senate elections enabling a House/Senate/Executive Socio-Democrat majority through at least January 2023.Last edited by AZHTfreak; 12-26-2020, 10:00 PM.DOJ+FBI+IRS+AFT=NKVD.
