When I saw the thread title I wondered... those federal 120's in my 16" were doing 2425 ft/s, and not bad grouping either...
'Course can't find them much nowadays - or even back when. which is why I never went much for them I guess.

No, what is weird is that people put so much stock into singular gel tests, like a sample of 1 into a simulant means anything significant.
