    Hi Evan,
Do you have any velocities of this load shot from that rifle?
Does the rifle function 100%? No FTF, FTE?
    Have you tried different primers?
    Different brass?
    What brass are you using?

    Just need some more details

      Definitely need some muzzle MV's.
Without that it is hard to tell what your barrel is doing exactly.
That said, CFE is known to burn kind of "carbon-y", ie dirtier than some other powders.
Also it likes to be run near the top end of its load curve.
That's why we need some MV data so you don't go over-pressure.

CFE 223 is a dirty, filthy powder. I used 30.8 grains of it for several years with 123s. My barrel and BCG stay much cleaner now that I kicked her to the curb.
        Let's go Brandon!

Are you using a suppressor? I do almost all the time I shoot my Grendel ARs and no matter what the powder is the brass is always pretty dirty.

Agree, suppressor makes one dirty rifle. Many hours cleaning.

Check you powder snobs out! We are in a time of crisis, did you forget? People are willing to use nail gun caps as primers and scrape Piccolo Petes for powder, and we are bickering about an extra cleaning on the BCG, LOL.

Running CFE at the top node is almost a must. I run 123gr projectiles over 31gr of CFE as a 3rd choice. I must admit when Hoppe's is out of stock, I might kick CFE to the curb.

She's fast indeed. It's a shame she gets so sloppy when the temperature isn't to her liking.

TV, you lost me at Hoppe's......

Yes it's a dirty powder, no matter where your load is st it's going to be dirty.

As a note to your safety. Please get yourself a chronograph, your basically playing in the dark with a bomb, handloading without a chronograph. It's very very very important to you and your guns safety to know exactly what each load is doing.
