Question for the folks that have used Shooters world powders, what seems to be the best one(s) for 120gr class bullets?
Specifically 120 Gold Dots and also 129 ABLR.
There is now a reloading manual for Shooters World powders. It has a burn rate chart so you can compare their powders to others. From a quick glance, it has Grendel loads for Match Rifle and Tactical Rifle powders.
THey have had the manual out for a while and importantly, they have updated it periodically. The last update I have was 11-11-20. They started with ONE Grendel load for Match Rifle and now have many. Lovex Explosia site has a lot of data for these powders but none for the Grendel (when i last checked, at least) ~Riuma.
Your node is above the book max. Are you seeing any pressure signs? Thanks for the info!
John
With a 120 grain he is right at book max.
FWIW, I have run 2520 and Match Rifle size by side. Not the same powder from what I can tell by performance.~Riuma
Oops. Sorry! I must have misread the 123gr 31.5gr max. The reason I ask is I got 8lb. several months ago (before they had all the wonderful Grendel load data) and ran it in 308. The data shows top loads in the 48's for 147-150 gr bullets. Loading a Hornady 150 FMJBT in Winchester brass I had flat primers (CCI-200s) at 44.0gr (recommended start load) and stiff bolt handle lift at 45.0. (Remington 700 SPS) Shoots reasonably well at 42.5gr.

In today's world we all need options and I'm already developing loads for two powders I've never used before- because there's no 8208XBR, H335, or LVR to be found.
