Reloader's Workshop reloading software available for free

I use Reloader's Workshop to document my reloads and a couple of years ago the original author of the software, Kevin Beebe, died. Since then the software has been setting at Github waiting for someone to take it over and keep developing it. A person named Reuel Victa has decided to continue to develop the software so it is available for download for free as per Kevins wishes. The new version is 1.5.0.3 and runs on my computer just fine. I use it all of the time for all of my documentation for my reloads for all of my calibers that i load for and print out the load data to put in my ammo boxes. There are videos on the site to show how to use everything.

Here is where you can get it:

No this program is for documenting your reloads and saving targets for each load. It lets you record just about anything from what guns you own to components to min-max loads to batch loads. It will also figure group sizes once you scan in your targets and mark the holes. It would replace what you use to write down info from developing a load. It does have a ballistic section but I normally just use Strelok Pro.

When I get a little time I will post some pics of the popup windows to enter info to give some examples of what it can be used for. When I first started using it I have to admit that I was kind of overwhelmed and it took me awhile before I got the hang of it.

I plan on trying to contact the new developer to see if I can get him to add and fix some things that I think need improved or added.

        You are welcome defiant-1.

Ooops, my brain must have been turned off! I completely missed what it is intended to do!
          Thanks for posting.

Here are some pics of what this program can be used for. This isn't all of them but just some of the main ones.

This screen is where you enter the min-max loads and anything in between from your manual.

This is where you enter the caliber info that you want. The program already has most of the calibers that are SAAMI spec so you might not need to use this.

This is where you enter your supplies such as powder, bullets, and etc.

This is for entering specific loads. Once you shoot the groups then you hit the "Test Data" button and it will bring up the next page. You then enter your data there and then hit the "Target Calculator" button and scan in your target groups for that load on the next page. This is one of my best groups with my Howa. Of course I am not going to post any of the terrible groups that I have accumulated.

This is the one that threw me for a while as you have to enter the caliber that each bullet is allowed to use or it won't list it as an option on down the line.

I think this is the main stuff that you might use most.

I've been using this application for a couple of months now and it does a really good job at doing what the original creator intended it for. Very flexible. I kept alot of this stuff on various spreadsheets. This simplified things for me having it all in one place. One word of caution, entering your inventory and costs can be a bit shocking on how much this hobby ends up costing you. If you don't want to know, do not track things at the $ level.

Neat. I do all of this on Excel, and have done so for years. But it took a lot of time to set up right, and invovles coding like VBLOOKUP commands and such, to do all Iwant. For someone starting from ground-up, this is probably and easier path!

                  10-4 on that.

With my current components in stock for the Grendel, which I mostly bought about 2 years ago before the prices went up, I am loading for between .46-.54 a round depending on the make of brass. Cartridges using brand new Lapua brass that I just bought recently cost me $1.51 a round. My 6.5 Creedmoor is about .91 a round with Starline brass.

What I do like is the program will prorate the cost of the brass after you shoot it each time. So the cost of your brass will go down some after each firing.

Edit: I thought I needed to add this info.

I went back to check on my Hornady brass from the first time I loaded it until now which is 9 firings with different bullets at different times and it originally cost me .92 a round loaded with Sierra 107gr bullets and it has gradually come down to right at .46 per round with Hornady 123gr HPBT bullets. Some of that decrease is from bullet cost though. This brass is about at the end of its life as the primer pockets are starting to get loose so I will probably toss it. So anyway I was able to track the brass from its first firing til now with this program.

Just a suggestion but I would like to see it include chrono data entry. I intend to use this very helpful. Thank you for making this available!

On my previous post with all of the pics, in the fourth entry on that page where there are 3 pics in a row, on the second pic in that row there is a button labeled "Shot Data" and clicking on it then it brings up the small screen that I show here. You have to enter the data manually for each shot but you can see that it figures all of the data for you. Also for the screen I posted here I was out in 20 degree temps that day trying to find a light home defense load that would cycle correctly in very cold temps and you are able to enter notes about each batch on this screen. I had to up the load .5 grains to get it to cycle and those notes helped me remember what happened at the time. Hope this is what you were looking for.
