    D8208 powder warning

A while ago I posted a deal on some new powder from Dominion Powder Company, made in Canada. This powder is way hotter than IMR 8208 XBR.
Pressure signs started 2 grains under my IMR 8208 favourite load so if you have some of the D 8208 be careful.

So do you have a grain per grain velocity comparison between the two powders? And how about an accuracy report?

Accuracy is not what I was expecting either. As for the velocity I didn't run any rounds over the crony as the powder results were lackluster.
IMR 8208 is my go to powder.

Was there an expectation that it was the same as IMR 8208?~ Riuma

I thought it would be similar. In the past I have used other powder, some military, that suggest to use a certain type of powder and reduce the charge by 10 percent and work up.I have found almost the same charge and velocity. An example is a powder called 44N which is 3031 type powder.I use this in my .375-08 and it works great. There are other powders that Higginson used to sell that I bought bulk in a cardboard box with a plastic bag inside.Came in 7 lb. lots.845 is like H335.Same loads but look a bit different.

It doesn't often work that way. Accurate 4350, IMR 4350, H4350, and SW4350 are all different powders with different data.~Riuma

I don't know if it is the same but with 4895 there is one type made by ADI in Australia - called H4895 in the US (called AR2206H in Australia). The other type made to the same specs is IMR4895 made by St Marks in Canada. So, both making it to the same specs but with different chemicals and techniques. They are not the same powder however and there's about 1-grain of powder difference when working up loads.

BM8208 is also made by ADI in Australia but that is as far as I know. Likely that another company is making it to the same burning/pressure specs. Close, but not exactly the same pressure/density/velocity.
