    PPU Brass

The only brass I've been able to find sense I started my Grendel build in April was from one retailer in Ohio and it was new PPU Brass with a LPP.

Yesterday I was going to load up about 25 cartridges in my Dillon XL650 but the brass would not go into the shellholder unless
I rotated it back and forth, but the 2 pieces of fired Hornady brass, I found at the range went right in. I did load 1 Hornady and 1 PPU cartridge.

I fired the Hornady first it ejected ok but the PPU didn't and I had to use both hands on the charging handle to get the PPU brass out.

Any ideas? This is the only brass have and daily searches produce nothing.

How's the shoulder look on the PPU? I'm wondering if the headspace is excessive for your chamber, I assume you're full-length resizing? The shell holder issue is interesting. What brand of shell holder? I've been using PPU brass since I stocked up on a lot of factory 110gr PPU a few years back, it's worked very well for me.

Thanks, checked both places last night but no stock.

Measuring the headspace from a new PPU case 1.193 and a fired PPU case comes in at 1.204". That is a variance of +.011". Yes, I am using full-length RCBS Dies. It isn't a shell holder problem because I found some very small nicks on the case head of about 17 cases. All is running smooth as far as reloading goes.

        Thanks Guy's

Is it possible to form 6.5 PRC brass into Grendel Brass?

No! The head diameter of the 6.5 PRC is a way bigger than the 6.5 Grendel. It would near impossible to squeeze it down to Grendel diameter...

You can convert 7.62x39 brass to grendel you lose some internal case capacity

From what I have read people are saying it really isn't worth the trouble, but I have never done it.

I have a couple hundred in a box I've never reloaded. Cleaned them, sized them and boxed them. Waiting for the end of the world scenario although when I got dangerously low on small primers I thought I might have to use 'em.
