IMR 3031 or BL-C(2) for 100 gr Ballistic Tips

Here is a link to a thread by DIANEB showing her targets and loads using 3031. The first set of targets on the left are the 3031 groups. It looks like she was using Speer 90gr TNT bullets and they seemed to group pretty good plus the rifle is a bolt gun. I think I would go with 3031 before the BL-C2 if that is all you have, otherwise, I like both powders that outbreaker recommended (H322 & Benchmark).

Personally I would steer you towards H335, 8208xbr, Tac. Maybe H322, but those others, I see in stock more often than most. Benchmark is also a choice. Nosler does not have 3031 in its grendel powders for the 100 gr. It calls 8208 the most accurate for 100 gr.
You do have some load data books, right? Otherwise you're shooting in the dark.
Recommend the 6.5 Grendel Handbooks, vol 1 and 2, in the AR15 buildbox section of the vendors part of the forum.
3031 is not mentioned there either.
There are several other choices in the handbooks."Down the floor, out the door, Go Brandon Go!!!!!"

Great idea. thanks. hazlipk@peoplepc.com
The more data the better, but no big rush. I have sort of a long honeydo list that I have to do before I set up to load. The wife is going full bore with the garden and flower beds, which seems to involve me more than would seem reasonable.

This sounds really familiar.
Just curious, when she talks about projects, is the word "we" used alot ? I hear it all the time and know it means ME.

It appears that many aren't familiar with 3031. It falls between H322 and Benchmark on the burn chart. Although it's as old as your grandfather and comes in really boring IMR packaging, it gets a 0.73 on the infamous temp sensitivity chart. Not much of a practical difference from the worshipped XBR at 0.59. The only question I would have would be it's bulkiness in a Grendel case. OP, I look forward to reading about your results.Let's go Brandon!
