    Sierra 120 Tipped Gameking

An employee with Sierra posted on the 6.5 Grendel reloading Facebook page that they will be releasing a new bullet optimized for the Grendel, the 120 grain tipped Gameking (#4320). The bullet has a G1 BC of .466 and when asked about minimum velocity for expansion he recommended at least 1900fps.

The post was for a few people to test the bullets and I believe I will be receiving a box. It sounded too good to be true, so I called Sierra to confirm, and they provided it is legit.

I will keep you all updated if I receive them!

    Definitely following and interested.
    I like the 120 class, and sierra's.

Now wish they would get some 100 gr .243's out onto the shelf!!

I have had good luck with Sierra's but have recently moved primarily to Hornady bullets in most chamberings. I get good luck with accuracy and terminal performance, and typically save enough that it makes it tough to "upgrade".

I am really hoping I get good accuracy out of these (still reluctant to believe they are sending me a box for testing), as I have hunted with the 123 SST for the last year, but I only average 1-1.5 MOA with them, and that is with a few different powders. Granted, most of my shots are under 250, and the majority of those being under 150, the accuracy is acceptable by hunting standards, but I wouldn't mind shaving off another .25-.5 MOA. I was able to easily work up a load with the 120 pro-hunters and TAC but have loaded all that I have left. I have about 25 loaded rounds if I decide to do a few hunts with them again.

The bullets arrived over the weekend. I'll get pics posted when I get a chance, but I can confirm they exist.

They are a bit longer than the 123 SST, but Sierra provided me with a lower BC when you compare the two.

I'll be working on loading some up this week hopefully, but I'm not sure that I will do any testing over the coming days. We just had youth weekend with the kids this weekend and the rifle opener is on Saturday, so not a whole lot of time for the range.

I can tell you right now that has a BC over .500 for G1, .250 G7.

Look at how long the boat tail and ogive are.

I agree on the BC being over .500. I was quite shocked once I got them side by side. The tip is also significantly larger which makes me curious as to how it will react upon impact with hunting.

I'm not sure on the release date, but you may be able to call Sierra and place an order prior to them being available on the website.

On sale on Sierra's website right now.

ETA: The techs at Sierra say use the 120 grain MK data to load this bullet.

Just picked up a few. Can't beat that price.

Says it might take up to 2 weeks to ship.
