Midway has Black Sheep 123 SST 6.5G ammunition. It is the first I have heard of this company. How does their ammunition compare to Hornady? How does this particular load compare in velocity, accuracy, flash, cleanliness etc.?

I just noticed that yesterday as well, and added them to the factory ammo list. We’re now at 131 SKUs for 6.5 Grendel factory ammo.
Specs state 2550fps for their 123gr SST load with clean-burning propellant.
This makes me suspect they are using 8208XBR or some type of extruded, high energy, fast-burning powder.
The 2550fps mv, assuming 24”, would be indicative of that.
With ball propellants, you can easily put a 123gr in the 2590-2650fps range from a 24”, and still be well under SAAMI MAP, leaving plenty of stand-off distance for MPLM and MPSM.
For ammunition manufacturers, there’s always this balance between meeting performance desires from customers (more, more, more speed!) vs safety in mass production, which is consistent powder formulations, consistent components, consistent supply, consistent velocities, batch-testing, and samples that stay within MAP, MPLM, and MPSM.
Hand loaders should never look at MPLM and MPSM and think those are the actual working pressures they can push to, because hand loaders have a spread in velocity too.
Anyway, what I like most about what I’m seeing from them is 25rd boxes of ammo.NRA Basic, Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, RSO
