    Favorite Powder

I’m curious as to what your favorite powder is for the 6.5 Grendel?
I’ve been away from the Grendel for awhile, got irritated at the lack of Grendel ammo that was available during and after Covid.
I think I’m back starting to mess with the Grendel again and start reloading some brass I saved.

I’ve shot a few pounds of CFE223 in the 6.5 Grendel. For bullets 107 grains and under I’ve used IMR8208XBR, H335, A2230/Xterminator and TAC. My supply of CFE223 is running low and I have a couple pounds of A2520 and three pounds of Shooters World Match Rifle. Powder has been difficult to find in stock in my area the last few years. I have a pound of AR Comp to test and always wanted to try H4895 but have never seen any for sale locally. With the current prices I haven’t had the motivation to buy new powder since I have enough on hand to shoot several years.

I’ve shot the most CFE223 and H335 or A2230 in the 6.5 Grendel but I have also shot some BLc2, Winchester 748, N-133, N-135 and Varget.

85 grains up to 123 grains. Anything heavier I use h4895.

CFE223 under 123-129gr Hornady and Nosler bullets, as well as 80-100gr Monoliths.
                  TAC under 100gr NBT
                  8208XBR under 107gr SMK

Keep in mind 8208XBR seems to have become more energetic in the last few years, so you might have to drop charge weights to get the same speed/pressure.

Hodgdon’s data for it changed noticeably.

There is a ton of new data from Hodgdon’s for 6.5 Grendel.

Before it hit $60/lb AR COMPand the extinct 8208xbr . These days it lives on Tac and 2230c..it actually does good with 2230c

I don't shoot anything heavier than 125 grain so Imr 8208xbr and Tac works well for me

Asking for my own education, why AR-COMP? What weight bullets, what velocities are you all seeing?
