Midway has the Lapua 136gr scenar- L hpbt on sale if you don't mind plunking down
357 dollars (per 1000). I'm not too sure how they would work in the grendel, but they would probably work well in a 260 rem or 6.5 x 284 or the like.

I have some of the new 120gr Scenar-L bullets to test as well. Still haven't shot them yet. They have a new manufacturing process that tightened the tolerances on everything with these bullets. In their test rifles, they're getting 1/3 MOA with 8-round groups at 300m, which is pretty impressive.

The BC's were posted within the last week or two as well.

    The 120gr Scenar-L is: G1 0.497 G7 0.246

    The 136gr Scenar-L is: G1 0.545 G7 0.274

Just bought a bunch of 123g Scenars. Interesting to see if the 120's will shoot better.
The testing Lapua did. Any idea of the load they used? And were the guns locked in a vice?

      Thanks.

LRRPF52- Lapua makes top notch stuff for sure- I need way more practice at longer ranges before I could realize the differences in BC's compared to my "go to" 123gr amax. Maybe it will all come together this fall/winter- might have Satern barrel (I've been waiting since march 2012) and I may have access to a private 1000 + yd "range". If that happens, my stash of bullets & powder will be quickly disappearing.

Lr grendel- Lapua probably used some vihtavuori powder and a shooter way better than me, ha ha.

A least one of the test rifles is a 6.5x55 Swede, and the other is maybe a 6.5x47 Lapua. I would have to ask, and they are using Vihtavuori powders.

Are any of the VV powders considered to be relatively temperature insensitive?

And which of the VV powders are any good in the Grendel. IE velocity? Using 123 g bullets
              Thanks

I think N135 and N140 work in the grendel 123gr bullets end up somewhere around mid 2400fps. I've never used viht powders so I cannot say for certain.

I've used N133 with the light weight bullets - 100's. I've used N135 with some mid-weights, but my weapon didn't like it as much as other powders. I used N540 with some 129 SP's, not the SST's.

Just got some N530, but have not played with it much.

Before anyone goes hog wild over the new Lapua Scenar-L bullets they should look at Lapua's website and compare them. They may be more consistent but is it enough to offset the price difference and in the 6.5 caliber the 3gr difference between the 120 and 123gr bullets and the 136 and 139gr bullets is not enough to talk about. This is taken from the Lapua web site.
Midway has the regular price for the 136 marked at 449.99 and the 139 at 369.99 per 1000. I just can't see 90 bucks of improvement. JMHO

Doesn't exactly answer your question...but some good background:

Getting temperature insensitivity requires more than just filling the case with a particular brand.
